Brahim Diaz offers gratitude to Pioli and Milan’s future: “I often hear from him”

By Ben Dixon -

Former AC Milan attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz has offered his gratitude to Stefano Pioli after the news of his departure whilst offering his thoughts on the future of the Rossoneri.

This has been a season to forget for several reasons, but the events following Saturday’s clash against Salernitana will live on in the memories of Milan fans for a while. Whilst the result was a great way to summarise the Rossoneri’s season, it showed why change is needed.

Ahead of the window, it is important to remember that the club do not need to rebuild. The foundations for the next head coach are strong, and there is a great mix of players who will continue to progress as they further develop and mature.

Instead, it is a side that needs a rework they need new ideas and some new inspiration, but that cannot, and should not take away from the praise that Pioli should be given for laying those foundations.

Ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League final, Brahim spoke to Sky Sports about his relationship with the 58-year-old, and his comments have been relayed by Radio Rossonera.

“It has been a good season because they are still in the Champions League, but Milan is a great club and can always win. I often hear from Pioli and also from my ‘brother’, not my friend, Theo. Yesterday I sent Pioli a message to thank him for everything he did for me at AC Milan.

“It’s a team that will always remain in my heart.”
