MN: Key Milan duo suffering for the after-effects of Covid as performances highlight

By Oliver Fisher -

Two of AC Milan’s key players are struggling to regain their top condition and their best form after Covid, according to one journalist.

Franco Ordine has written an editorial for MilanNews reflecting on Tuesday night’s defeat against Liverpool, mentioning the fact that on the first goal that Milan conceded – the equaliser from Mo Salah – Theo remained rooted inside the box after the save from Mike Maignan which allowed the winger in to score.

Overall, the Frenchman was not very reactive throughout the evening and has not produced his same lightning attacking plays in a while. The journalist writes that Theo and Diaz have not yet managed to get back into a rhythm upon returning from Covid, which proves just how much of a setback it can be given it has been a few weeks now.

The hope is that the left-back and the attacking midfielder can hit form soon, especially in view of the huge game against Napoli on December 19.

  1. I think if Theo doesn’t regain his form from now until January and the PSG offer of $60 million is still on the table, I think we should take it. I’m a fan of Theo and what he has been able to accomplish with Milan when he was on top form but he has been a liability recently. Have Kalulu or Florenzi replace him, they at least are better at defence at the moment even if they don’t have Theo’s attacking record but at the moment Theo is bringing nothing to both attack and defence. If he keeps up his poor form we will only suffer stepbacks and no financial benefit.
