BrandFinance: Milan the fastest-growing club internationally since 2021 – the numbers

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are the club that has recorded the greatest growth internationally in the four-year period 2021-24 and the only Italian club in the world top 50 to have increased its value in the last year, a study has revealed.

Some data has emerged from the BrandFinance Football 50 2024, an annual report that analyses the value of football brands from all over the world and which in the last two editions had already highlighted the Rossoneri club as the fastest growing.

In particular, in the 2024 report, Milan are:

➤ The club that recorded the greatest growth at an international level in the four-year period 2021-24, going from around €150m to over €400m (+162%) and clearly above all the other clubs in this particular ranking: 2nd Bayer Leverkusen (+94%), 3rd Aston Villa (+70%).

➤ The only Italian club in the world top 50 to have increased its value in the last year, with a +11.9% compared to the last edition which takes it from €358m in 2023 to over €400m in 2024

The results of the report further confirm that the club are very much on the right track from a commercial and financial standpoint after years of struggles and losses.

As a reminder, for three consecutive years Football Benchmark had Milan as the fastest growing club in Europe in terms of business value. YouGov stated that the Rossoneri are the most appreciated Italian club in strategic markets such as the United States and China.

  1. Afterall this owners knows what they are doing! The next victory will be to overcome Italian medieval political mindset and pioneered a new paradigm shift…that alone is a trophy on its own! Ushering in a new era of sustainable sporting ideology…..seems there are many ways to win trophies regardless.

    1. It’s boring mate, honestly.

This is a news aggregator site – it posts 5 contradictory articles a day about the same player; that’s its job. It simply found some Milan related news and shared it. This is just data, not some grand declaration of success or diversion technique from our oppressive overlords at RedBird HQ (which is presumably based on the moon or under an active volcano).

Do you see that? You are ranting at data.

      1. It’s definitely success you knew fans that haven’t been here for the past decade probably don’t even know that the club nearly went bankrupt and got relegated to Serie D. After Uncle Fester and Sylvio ran up the debts, then Yonghong Kung Fu Li came and made things worse and forfeited on his loan. Elliot did a good job in stabilising the club, and Red Bird are doing a good job in growing the brand. This club wasn’t even worth $500m when Elliott took control, now it’s worth more than double. Just because they don’t spend like you spend when you’re playing FIFA you think it’s bad, we have a new Development team in Milan Futuro, new stadium on the way, typically it’s people like you who aren’t even from Milan who want to insult these guys. Rather keep your mouth shut and go support PSG, maybe the next time we face them the ultras can put you in the hospital too.

        1. Oh bless you, you didn’t understand my comment.

If you weren’t so blind with rage you’d see I was being critical of Adekunles boring and flippant response to an article about objective data. I suspect the art of subtlety is beyond you so I’ll spell it out…Basically we are saying the same thing, I’m just saying it in a far, far smarter way.

Thanks for the threats though, always nice to be trolled.

        2. Forza milan my friend who are these people that only know psg (who have won nothing with all the fire power and money they have garbage French league). Real is the only club that are example of how to spend money and win. Milan know these ways because we were them and on out way back up forza ultra milan curva sud

  2. The brand is growing! Curse the Americans! What’s RedBird’s problem??? Why can’t we be like the other clubs who grew more than us last year…..

    -Juve -8%
    -Napoli -9%
    -Inter -11%
    -Roma -13%

    oh wait….

    1. Haha Inter what losers -11% and only a Scudetto, second star and a solid roster while we are officially partnering with the tequila of Jeannie Buss! Forza brand

      1. Yea, no, you’re right. Let’s beat Inter here too and drop brand value to over -11%. That will show them!

Inter is further into their project with a stellar Sporting Director who now runs the club. Kudos to them.

Milan is on a different plan. One that will come together and be more successful long term but on a different time line.

I believe in this project and what the ownership has done so far. 🔴⚫️

        1. Bro u don’t understand the value or meaning of getting the second star over our rival do you? That’s a badge of honour that’s priceless. Can’t put a price on that but u can buy players to get it. I’ll trade anyday 11% growth to have gotten the second star over them..get your priorities straight. Maybe the 21st Scudetto I would think differently

  3. AC Milan is not growing fast it is recovering and by the history and stature of a club like AC Milan, it is pretty slow.

  4. This is impressive. I think when we cleared the debts, I think that’s why the growth has increased the way it did. Good job on getting the books in order. Now let’s aim to win something
