Brest president responds to Brassier speculation amid Milan links: “We’ll see”

By Oliver Fisher -

Lilian Brassier is one of the main names that AC Milan have been linked with over the past few weeks as they look for a new centre-back, and Brest’s president has commented on the speculation.

The return of Matteo Gabbia and the signing of Filippo Terracciano certainly helped remove the ’emergency’ aspect of Milan’s centre-back issues, but Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori remain out so more help is needed.

Brasier is a player that they like a lot, as Moncada himself admitted a couple of weeks ago, while the player would be happy to make the switch too as per reports. Finding a meeting point with the Ligue 1 club over a fee is the difficult part though and so far has not yet arrived.

The president of Brest – Denis Le Saint – spoke about Brassier to Prime Video and addressed the idea that he could depart before the end of the month, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We’ll see if there will be sales opportunities in this January transfer window. But we need a convincing offer, also because Lilian has worked well with us in recent years and has grown, it’s a pleasure to know that he is followed by top clubs,” he said.

Elsewhere, Sky are caloming that Milan are not giving up on their pursuit of Alessandro Buongiorno, and they are reportedly planning to potentially use a counterpart to lower the cash sum required.
