Cagliari star shuts down rumours of Milan move: “I want to play another year here”

Cagliari midfielder Razvan Marin appears to have put an end to any chances of him joining AC Milan this summer with his latest comments.

Several sources have reported recently that Milan held talks with Cagliari over 25-year-old midfielder Razvan Marin as the Sardinian side will sign him from Ajax for €10m as per the terms of the option to buy that they inserted into the loan deal.

Calciomercato.com then gave an update stating that Milan have found out that Cagliari want €18m to sell the Romania international which would essentially secure them an instant profit of €8m. However, the figure is considered too high by Milan, so for the time being the track is on pause.

Marin spoke during an interview Digi Sport and was asked about the rumours of interest from various clubs, among them Milan and even Ligue 1 side Lyon, but he does not seem to want to entertain a move.

“I want to play another year here [in Cagliari], there were Serie A teams and not only interested in me, but I’m not in a hurry, I want to have a great season, have continuity,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).
