Davide Calabria was in a humorous mood as he spoke on stage at the Gentleman Fair Play awards this evening, passing comment on what it means to be captain.
Calabria will lead out his boyhood club with the armband on Saturday evening as Milan hope to keep their 100% start to the season going and also snap a streak of four straight defeats in the derby against Inter.
Calabria answered questions on stage after Rafael Leao, who won Milan’s goal of the season award for his strike against Napoli in the league.
How do you experience a derby as captain?
“A derby in general is a strong emotion, it’s a heartfelt match, where as always a great challenge awaits. I hope that both teams give everything and that there is respect, it has always been a big match.”
How great is the desire to regain the second star?
“It would be a dream, it is a target, it would be an added value.”
How big is the desire to win back a national team spot?
“I’m not in a hurry for that (laughs).”
You will battle Dimarco against…
“I now play as a midfielder, but somehow we will meet”

“I now play as a midfielder”
Such an interesting note.
Then we’ll surely lose because there will be a lot of space for Dimarco. Pioli should stop that kind of tactics.
