Calcio e Finanza: Financial impact of Milan signing Ibrahimovic revealed

By Oliver Fisher -

The financial impact of a potential return to AC Milan for striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been revealed, as per a report.

We reported last week that Ibrahimovic is the Rossoneri’s first choice target to reinforce a side which has scored just 12 goals in 13 games this season and is bereft of leadership and experience.

Reports from numerous journalists have emerged over the last 24 hours claiming that Milan are upping the ante once again and that bonuses could seal the deal, while Ibrahimovic himself has seemingly declared that he is open to a return.

According to Calcio e Finanza, if the transaction materialises as reported by numerous outlets (18 months at €6m net – €2m + €4m), then the impact on the balance will be €10.5million gross (salary earned before tax).

Of this, €3.5m will impact on the 2019/2020 budget, while the other €7m will be counted on the 2020/2021 budget.

The report continues by adding that the tax benefits provided for by the Growth Decree cannot be applied to Ibrahimovic’s 18-month deal.
