Calcio e Finanza: How much Higuain’s loan spell cost Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

The exact final cost of Gonzalo Higuain’s six-month loan spell at AC Milan from Juventus has reportedly been revealed.

The Argentine moved to the Rossoneri last summer, joining from the Bianconeri as part of the agreement which saw Leonardo Bonucci return to Turin, as well as Mattia Caldara arrive at the San Siro.

Higuain made 22 appearances for Milan, but only managed to find the back of the net eight times despite a good start to life at the club.

Eventually, as he continued to disappoint, Milan decided to terminate the loan with Juventus, who then shipped the player off to Chelsea.

According to a report from Calcio e Finanza – who have analysed Juve’s official accounts – the cost of Higuain’s loan to Milan was €10,208,000.

Of course, his salary must be added on to that for the overall total financial cost. He was set to earn €9.5m for the 2018-19 season, as per Calciomercato.com.
