The decision was made to keep Christian Comotto and Francesco Camarda at AC Milan, but Ruben Amorim is yet to use either.

Calciomercato.com begin a report by pointing out that Milan remain very much a work in progress and are constantly evolving, especially with just three games on the board in Serie A and two of them being tricky trips to Turin.

Amorim has certainly been good at managing matches and using his substitutions to great effect. His squad management is a different story, as several players still have zero minutes played in the league.

Untouched jewels

Christian Pulisic is certainly the most striking case, as the American winger did not play against Torino, Venezia or Juventus. The evaluation of the former Chelsea player – according to Amorim’s post-match statements at the Allianz Stadium – is purely physical, after a long injury lay-off.

He’ll keep improving his condition and could start from minute one against Lazio. Two other clear-cut situations are those of Comotto and Camarda: the former has yet to make his Serie A debut, while the latter is waiting for a chance.

With the schedule in hand, the right match to launch the two young Rossoneri talents into the fray seems to be Sunday 20 September, when Eusebio Di Francesco’s Lecce will play at San Siro.

For Comotto, it’s important to consider that he has both Luka Modric and Ardon Jashari head of him in the pecking order at the moment, a Ballon d’Or winner and a €35m+ signing. Camarda has only Goncalo Ramos in front of him.

According to both Amorim and Gerry Cardinale, Milan have chosen to keep the two young talents from their youth academy, despite numerous requests for a loan deal. They believe they’ll have their chance to shine: now it’s up to the coach to figure out how and when.

    1. What happens if Ramos gets injured tomorrow? Out for 3 months. Who is playing? And then if Camarda can’t do 90 minutes while Ramos is out while Milan needs to play Wednesday and Saturday, every week? Baffling comment by you.

      1. Every player in every team has 90 minutes of playing unless is not fiscal fit. We don’t pay all that money for not being ready when you are needed. They are young and active

  1. 3 matches done, 50 left. Not really “HOLD THE PRESS” -kind of news story here. They’ll get their chances – if they deserve it.

  2. We have plenty of games for them to get chances. It’s way too early in the season right now. Even the top 15 who will get minutes need to first get used to this new system and each other.

Then it becomes easier to strat introducing the younger lads..

  3. So far Ramos is doing a lot of running with little service. He’s gonna get burned out. There’s no reason why Camarda couldn’t have come on at the end of the Juve game to give GR a rest.
