Francesco Camarda will miss out on the chance to score against his parent club, but AC Milan can breathe a double sigh of relief.
Camarda was expected to start Lecce’s game over the weekend against Parma, but the head coach Eusebio Di Francesco confirmed that he was a late exclusion because of a shoulder issue that has been causing him pain.

During a video on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto then revealed a bit more information, suggesting that it is a ‘serious’ issue that Milan are a bit worried about.
“A shoulder problem, but it’s serious and will need to be evaluated in the next few days. Milan is aware of this situation, so we’ll see how it develops in the next few days. However, I can tell you that there’s a bit of concern regarding Camarda’s shoulder, and Milan are already aware of this.”
However, some positive news has come out regarding the teenage striker, who also missed the game against the Rossoneri’s city rivals at San Siro last night.
A statement on Lecce’s official website reads: “US Lecce announces that footballer Francesco Camarda underwent an orthopaedic consultation in Milan, which confirmed a contusion to his right shoulder and prescribed 15 days of rest.”
It means he will not be fit to face his parent club and his boyhood team Milan at San Siro on Sunday night and instead will have to watch from the stands, ones that he knows very well by now.

Doesn’t matter. He’s not getting the right experience at Lecce. This boy should never had been playing for a Serie A team battling relegation. He should have been playing in Serie B or even Serie C, as he didn’t light Serie C on fire in his first season there with Futuro last season. Poor decision by all parties involved.
I don’t agree. Getting used to fight for survival isn’t vat when it’s just 1 season. He has had some mental challenges example the missed penalty against Napoli and battling relegation, but all this will only make him sharper and better and more qualified. I believe he will get back to Milan more mature and more ready, at least maybe for another loan spell with more succession sure.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. His stint with Lecce isn’t “dancing on roses” but he’ll learn a lot – maybe not scoring goals but that he shown he can do already.
Exactly!
It’s not about the “mental challenges”, it’s about playing time. Lecce is a club with an interest in survival in Serie A. Why would it make an 18 year old that hasn’t played above Serie C level its starting striker? Maybe you think we should have promoted Diego Sia from Futuro instead of signing Fullkrug to help us get back to the CL? Camarda needs time on the field. He’d face the same “mental challenges” in Serie B. Lot’s of penalties to be missed there too.
