Capello believes Inter ‘are stronger’ but highlights ‘imagination and Leao’ for Milan

AC Milan will take on their city rivals Inter in the Champions League semi-final next month, having knocked out Napoli 2-1 on aggregate. Fabio Capello, the former Rossoner manager, believes the Nerazzurri are stronger.

All three Italian teams were very lucky in the Champions League draw for the quarters, ending up on the same side of the tree along with Benfica. Now just Milan and Inter remain, both dreaming of making it to the final.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, former Milan manager Fabio Capello was asked about the success of the Italian teams in Europe. He also shared his thoughts on the Derby della Madonnina in the semi-final.

“Milan were the ones I gave the least credit to, I thought they suffered the most, especially against Tottenham. Instead they were good, like Inter who eliminated Barcelona and Benfica. Who is the favourite in the derby? I’ve always considered Inter to be stronger in terms of squad and experience, but Milan have more imagination and a Leao who is impossible to defend in one-on-one situations,” he stated.

The first leg is scheduled for May 10th and Milan will start as the designated home side, with the return leg taking place on May 16th. Until then, though, both teams will have to focus on the top-four race in the league.

  1. Inter deffend with 5 when not on the ball, and its difficult to catch them on a counter since they let 2-3 players back deffending.

  2. Meanwhile, Matteo Salvini declared the following: “I’m resigned, Inter are already in Istanbul.” Well, you can go fvck yourself, you pathetic clown. You’re not a Milan fan, you’re scum.

  3. Istanbul want to payback what belongs to Milan over the years after realizing how on fair it has been for denying milan one of the golden moments of all time
