Capello names on key aspect Pioli must improve at Milan: “The level is high”

AC Milan failed to find the back of the net once again in the Champions League, losing 3-0 against PSG last night. There are many things to work on, as Fabio Capello highlighted after the game, but especially one aspect.

The Rossoneri did okay at the start of the game but struggled to keep up with the pace of PSG after the opening goal. After three games, they have just two points and are currently last in the group, meaning a strong performance will be needed in the return leg.

Speaking to Sky Italia after the game, as cited by Radio Rossonera, Fabio Capello shared his thoughts on the game and criticised the Rossoneri’s execution. He highlighted one thing Milan must improve to compete at this level.

“I didn’t like the match. For the first half hour, Milan played on equal terms. They took the risk of playing 1v1 and in the end, it didn’t pay off. When you play against certain players who have speed and dribbling it is very, very difficult to bring home the result. So, a little more attention was needed.

“Milan were also absent on the second goal they conceded, from a corner, they were there watching the match as spectators. But they were also absent from the penalty area until the 80th minute. Only then did we see Milan in the area. Too many minutes out and what is the result? 0 goals, there are some attacking problems. Not very comforting.

“The match against Napoli will be a very important match to demonstrate the value of the team. They have played three games against great teams and lost all three. Now they have to face a team that is dangerous again like Napoli.

“When you play in the Champions League, the level is high because you face teams that don’t give you any second chances and punish you immediately. This is the aspect that Pioli must work on,” he stated.

Milan will take on Napoli next, as Capello mentioned, and it will indeed be a crucial clash for Pioli’s men. Not just to bounce back from the UCL struggles, but also to assert themselves at the top of the Serie A standings.

  1. Pioli straight clowning week after week, when will he give Pellegrino a chance, the defender according to Pioli is doing but he never gives him a chance .🤡🤡🤡

  2. Thank you Mr Capello, I saw some statistics yesterday celebrating pioli highlighting that only sacchi records remaining for him to match! But the question what does he have to show for his records, came 4th in his first season, due to pandemic, came 3rd or 2nd thereabouts, then Ibrahimovic cake and we win the scudetto…then last season underwhelmed and almost go back to Europa league because ibra was absent…and now, Milan will crash out the champions league and came 5th on the table….thats when all blinded fans will awakening to the scam of a manager we have here.
