Ismael Bennacer is getting closer to a return, having returned to training at Milanello, and Fabio Capello believes he will be like a great signing for AC Milan. The legendary manager stated that the midfielder could change the Rossoneri completely.
Bennacer underwent surgery at the end of last season and has since been working hard on his recovery. He’s expected to be back in mid-December and given Milan’s struggles in the No.6 role lately, his return is essential.
In his column for Gazzetta dello Sport, Fabio Capello shared his thoughts on Bennacer’s return, which will soon be imminent. Regardless of the potential January operations, the midfielder will still be the best ‘signing’ for the Rossoneri.
“In January, when Milan’s great manoeuvres to strengthen the squad will have come to fruition, the Rossoneri will already be able to count on a ‘new signing’, and it will be a great coup: the return of Ismael Bennacer. He can change the face of the team, because Pioli is lacking a player like him.
“The Algerian is now a Milan man in all respects, he knows the game and will not need time to regain control of the midfield,” he wrote.
Bennacer has been working at Milanello since last week and as said, he should be back in action mid-December. Then, he will participate in the AFCON with Algeria, meaning he will miss a month (possibly more) at the start of 2024.
