If Mike Maignan were to leave AC Milan this summer then there are two domestic solutions the management could turn to.
La Gazzetta dello Sport write that just two weeks after the disaster against Cagliari to complete the collapse from Scudetto challengers to fifth place, Milan finds itself with a depleted management team, without a coach, and grappling with the discontent of its stars.

While Rafael Leao has already openly expressed his intention to leave, the silence of Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot is causing considerable concern among Rossoneri fans. Then there’s the captain Maignan, who signed a renewal earlier in the year but may also tell his agent to look around.
Just a few months ago, the Frenchman had decided to commit his future to Milan, convinced by his excellent relationship with Massimiliano Allegri and his staff, and the insistence of now-former sporting director Igli Tare.
However, the failure to qualify for the Champions League has shattered Maignan’s confidence in Milan, and he could now even reconsider his decision and seek an exit. Chelsea have been on his trail for some time, seeking a goalkeeper superior to Robert Sánchez.
Maignan out, who in?
Maignan seems open to the possibility: while waiting to see how Milan’s future will unfold, the Frenchman is focused solely on the World Cup. Then we’ll see.
And if Maignan were to leave, who would Milan bet on? It’s tempting to say an Italian, especially given the squad list regulations with European football to come. Any proceeds from the Frenchman’s sale could be reinvested in Marco Carnesecchi, Atalanta’s number one.
He might well be tempted to make the jump to arguably the biggest club in Italy. Negotiating with Atalanta, however, is never easy. The alternative could be Elia Caprile , who has emerged as one of Serie A’s best goalkeepers with Cagliari, but should cost a bit less.

If Maignan requested to leave than at least 40 million same for Rabiot. I really hope they stay but if someone wants to leave than let them
Carneseschi all in
They won’t pay 40+ mil for a goalkeeper and Atalanta 100% won’t sell under 40
Alongside Leao and Gimenez, if anyone is likely to leave this summer it’s Maignan, regardless of his contract renewal. He’s a top 5 keeper earning half what’s possible whilst winning nothing, and the WC will only shine more of a light on him.
Caprile looks the business to me.
€40 million and he can go. Torriani can be promoted to number 1.
redbird project…. everyone is running for their life…. maybe Ibra will be playing next season because we will have only average players and he knows how to win titles with average players. Maybe Tom Brady cutting his hair was a sign of redbirds brilliant plan for us to be winning the financial and football scudeto …. Gerry is basically a genius🤣🤣🤣
Carnesechi och Caprile mot Maignan alla dagar i veckan
No mention of Torriani? Typical Redbird. Say they want to develop talent, instead buy expensive duds and let talent walk. Soon we’ll be reading about how Torriani left for some smaller team, had a tremendous season and then signs for Inter or Juventus.
The players are talking like they were not the ones who failed on the pitch. Really pathetic to read all theese players and their dissapointment.
But i guess this is 2026 no responsibility whatsoever , just point your finger and make excuses.
Promote Torriani ffs!!!
The way things have been the past three seasons and with the current chaos, AC Milan would be a step down for Carnesecchi. Only a crazy offer would make him and Atalanta consider a transfer. Caprile is a more realistic option, and, if we go the path of Italy’s recent friendlies, Torriani should get a get a good look, especially in the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
I wish carnesecchi. Probably my favorite gk at the moment.
promote Torriani as 1st choice & get experienced serie A as rotation/ backup, someone like Audero is enough
Maignan, good riddance, crybaby🤡
Learn how to go out during corners)
Watch when we finish 10th next season without Mike, which is where we would’ve finished this season if it wasn’t for his saves.
We would have finished Top 4, if this he hadn’t gifted goals against Como, Cagliari, Parma, etc..
I expect keepers to make regular and good saves. I think Mike made 4-5 spectacular saves that earned ACM 7-9 points. Where would they be without these save?
Exactly.
Torriani time is coming, he is very good goalkeeper we saw it all against liverpool
Only Torriani no other
