Today could be a crucial day for AC Milan’s mercato, as Gerry Cardinale is expected at Milanello to discuss the situation with Ruben Amorim.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report this morning that Amorim will first decide which players are eligible for sale as they are not part of his plans. Among those leaving are Athekame, Cissé, Odogu, Fofana, Filippo Terracciano, Bondo, Estupinan, Tomori, Gimenez, Ricci, Musah and Leao.
The latter’s future, however, remains a major conundrum. The Portuguese winger is still hoping for a call from a Premier League team, but for now only Galatasaray are interested and even they may have moved on to other names.
Remaining signings targeted
Once a few sales are completed, Milan will be able to continue their campaign to strengthen the squad. Another centre-back is sought, and Amorim’s dream remains Sporting CP’s Gonçalo Inacio.
A wing-back could also arrive (with Atalanta’s Nicola Zalewski linked) and a midfielder (Marseille’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is a popular name), but these discussions are contingent on departures.
A new attacking midfielder remains a key objective. In recent weeks, Matias Soulé (Roma), Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal), and Dario Osorio (Midtjylland) have been explored and put forward, while yesterday in Germany the name of Köln’s Said El Mala also surfaced.
During today’s meeting with Amorim, Cardinale will reiterate a point that must be clear to everyone: Mike Maignan is not for sale. There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the Milan captain in recent days for requesting extra time off, but he will be told that a move this summer is off the cards.
A wing-back must arrive. A backup striker as well.

2 wingbacks, CB, CAM, ST will be needed afterwards, but most likely Leao stays and we get just another CAM on the right side and maybe only 1 wingback. I don’t trust us to sign 5 players this late 🙂

Rabiot, Modric, Ricci, Jashari, Comotto are good enough for the double-pivot…
On that list, who is a potential actual sale? I see maybe Tomori, maybe Fofana. Perhaps Ricci. The others will be loans at ‘best’. Many of them aren’t going anywhere so prepare to make the best of some of that list Ruben.

Realisticly I can see Athekame, Cissé, Odogu, Gimenez and Musah leaving on loans
Fofana, Filippo Terracciano, Bondo, Ricci could be sold
Estupinan, Leao (lack of interest) and Tomori (dont want to leave) I think will remain
But getting rid of 9 out of 12 unwanted players would be huge. But damn hard
Considering the dates they already lost a good part of value they could have gotten a month ago. Late deals mostly come with discounts, especially if you know the selling club doesn’t want the player and doesn’t really have a choice. And Milan is public about who isn’t wanted. 😀 I think a few children could do better than people in charge of Milan at the moment.
Keep your expectations low. Cardinale and his people have demonstrated for the past three seasons that they don’t know football. The window to attract proper players is long gone. Under Maldini, Massara, Boban, and co. there was an attractive project to join. Now, the Scudetto and Champions League semi-final are a distant memory. We are a club with no direction and a toxic environment. We cannot attract starters from Serie A clubs, let alone from top teams abroad. As much as we would like to believe it, players like Vlahovic, Zaniolo, Scalvini, Palestra, Alajbegovic aren’t thinking about joining the Cardinale circus.
Our choices now are:
1. Sign mediocre players
2. Massively overpay for proper players
3. Smart buys (deals similar to Giroud, Diaz, Bennacer, Kalulu, Krunic, Kjaer)
4. Develop Futuro/Primavera players
Sadly, we have been focusing on 1 and 2 instead of 3 and 4. I hope that changes. Camarda, Kostic, Cisse, and Comotto staying and playing would be a good start.

Please, am repeating , we don’t need Leo in that team again 45 million euros by Gala is okay , that can be used to invest in another player and recover the gaps … Secondly Soule is a good player but not the perfect fit for the attacking right wing perhaps the fee is high for Milan now cos of the 100 million euros at the first that can bring in 3 to four players…. Invest on Dario Osorio is the perfect match for the wing and still have low cost of purchase… For the Midfield Milan need a young talented players that have strenght to bring in because that midfield is one of the major key role of Milan team back in history and the Defends line… please Inacio fee is high for now, the defends line can still go into war and play well with Gila and Diawara existence, as at now we need dangerous attackers and Midfielder that can play long pass annd mark aggressively with Rabiot… Modrics playing time in milan should reduce and introduce new players so they can adapt quickly just like Jashari bought at 35 million euros through out last season is playing time was poor , he need playing time so he can take responsibility of is role and carry is own load at is position and he must also have a good competitor as replacement aparts from Modric… Please Osorio , is needed in that team ……
