Criticism continues to pour in from all sides after Gerry Cardinale’s decision to pivot and appoint a new management from internal options.
After days of discussions and considerations regarding the future of the hierarchy, Cardinale has made a final decision. The owner has chosen not to entrust the football department to an external ‘head of football’ but has decided to promote from within.

In this new structure – branded ‘the Liverpool model’ by some – Ruben Amorim will play a central role. The coach will be responsible for defining the team’s needs, indicating which areas require reinforcements and the characteristics new signings will need.
The coach’s recommendations will then be further analysed by the scouting team and the data analysis team, who will be tasked with identifying the players best suited to the club’s technical and financial needs. Hendrik Almstadt is expected to lead transfer negotiations.
The issue is that after Markus Krösche seemed close, this feels like a step background from what was originally intended and declared by Cardinale. Corriere della Sera’s Monica Colombo made her thoughts known on her social media.

“And then, if the idea – right or wrong, it doesn’t matter, we’ll see – is to copy the Liverpool model, couldn’t it have been adopted already a month ago? The problem isn’t the plan (will it work?) but the delay with which the season is programmed.”
Pretty much the only outcome that was logical after he fired everyone and within the first week didn’t have replacements.
This means that the firings weren’t planned for and were contingent on the Cagliari result. Great planning by Gerry. And to fire everyone but not distance Zlatan from the club is an even bigger failure.
This club is going nowhere fast. The current default to internal promotions is an enormous fail and this season will reflect that. There’s no cohesion in the club of any sort. Disjointed management with people out of position which will only reflect on the club.
I feel bad for Armorim, who had to have been desperate to join Milan. But he will fail (and prb get fired in the winter) and I doubt the club makes it to CL again next season.
Depressingly true – I don’t get the optimism some fans have over hiring Amorim – the guy who can’t even play his best players in the right position (sounds familiar)…..
Remember I had proposed two options and both were terrible ie either Gerry was waiting on the results of the final game… Which is a terrible way to run a club… Or that he knew he’d be firing them all regardless of result and as we can see he has no replacements.. Both are just terrible judgment and manner in which to run a club of this magnitude. This is clear proof that this guy doesn’t know what he’s doing

Aka, nobody was willing to deal with the mess that gerry was offering, and so he ran out of options
Lol. These “professionals” were asking for high wages, that’s when it dawned on him: “I have guys that can do it! It would be cheaper”.
Find a coach seeking redemption, place some guys around him, give him a limited budget, and just make top 4 and we are good.
He has not realized yet, when you only aim for top 4 you get top 6, if things go well. If not, you make top 8!
But I have to give it to him, he has a good media reach, he sent the fans of a wold goose chase, all the while knowing he would never hire any of the guys he was speaking with, but gave the impression they were demanding too much.
Any one who will not kiss his a**, will find no space at Milan. Ibra has kissed it so much, the after effects was the horror show at fox studios. A self acclaimed genius could not even analyze tactical movements of teams, calls a national team coach a talented player, empty upstairs and masking that with bragging attitude. I felt shame and sadness on his behalf. It was absolutely shameful to see.
All the past months activity was just a decoy. Cardinale had no solutions and neither did his praise singers. All.the hype around amorim is also arranged. He will fail because he will not get his required players. Simple. The sad part is him thinking he will be supported. But like I said he is desperate to show his skills as a coach and eager to prove a point.
It will be roller coaster season..
