Report: Cardinale contacted Commerce President regarding NBA Europe area purchase

In recent months, there has been a lot of talk about AC Milan and the possibility of the club having a basketball team for the NBA Europe league. Today, a new step was taken.

With Gerry Cardinale’s roots in American sports, it makes complete sense why the Milan owner is so interested in bringing the Rossoneri into the same landscape, through the opportunity that the NBA Europe league would provide.

A bid has been sent to enter the league, but there has been little progress since then. There is no need to worry, though, given that this is the situation for every team.

A new location for NBA Europe

As MilanNews relays from Malpensa24, the RedBird founder has contacted Mauro Vitiello, who is the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Varese, to seek information about the Malpensa Fiere area.

On this land, a new 15,000-seater stadium could be built for the NBA Europe team. It is no secret that Cardinale is incredibly interested in having a team in Milan, but the team being based in Varese could also be an option.

The competition is expected to start in 2027, so there is plenty of time to find a suitable agreement. More so when considering the fact that the league has not been officially set up yet.

  1. Why, just why? Armani Milano is already there. Instead of investing in the club he does this, so what happens to the football club? Our cricket club has been defunct for decades, we were founded as a football and cricket club, but you don’t see the club still push cricket.
