MN: Cardinale determined to land La Maura agreement with next Italy trip planned

By Oliver Fisher -

Gerry Cardinale is pushing hard for AC Milan to build a new stadium as shown by his recent presence in the city to meet key figures.

According to Anto Vitiello’s latest for MilanNews, Cardinale is not giving up in his mission to get full approval for a new stadium and he will be in Italy again in April to meet again with the Municipality of Milan and the Lombardy Region.

The declared objective is to build the new stadium in the La Maura area, a few steps from the current San Siro, and his meetings with the governor Fontana are strategic because the land of the southern agricultural park – where the sports facility would be built – will pass under the management of the Region by the end of the year.

Furthermore, the subjects who must sign a program agreement – which would help bypass a lot of individual bureaucratic issues – are Mayor Sala and Governor Fontana.

The owner of RedBird is moving forward with great determination in this area, he wants to be able to change things and he is spending a lot with continuous trips to Italy. If the bureaucracy holds back Cardinale again then he will move outside Milan, probably to Sesto San Giovanni.
