Giornale: Cardinale leaning towards Allegri staying and Ibrahimovic departing – the latest

In recent days, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been criticised heavily and there is a chance that he could leave AC Milan this summer.

There has been a lot said against the management this year, but they have often done themselves no favours. Now, it is Ibrahimovic facing the light, with the Swede accused of going over Massimiliano Allegri’s head.

In fact, the Italian is so frustrated by the ordeal that it would appear that he is not willing to continue working together. So, Gerry Cardinale may be forced to make a decision.

Allegri over Ibrahimovic

According to Il Giornale (via MilanNews), the American would currently side with the manager if the decision had to be made today. He has a great appreciation for Allegri – which is shared by the Italian, too – and this could strengthen the plans for the summer.

Indeed, if Cardinale is willing to support Allegri’s wishes for the summer, they could look to compete for the Scudetto.

There may be some difficulties separating from Ibra, considering he has personal investments in RedBird. However, this should still be solvable. In any way, it seems that in the space of a week, the idea of Ibrahimovic being strengthened at Casa Milan has crumbled.

Instead, he may only be heading towards a permanent place in the background.

    1. Chukwueze, Musah, Bondo, Origi (already left), Bennacer, Terracciano, Gimenez, Loftus Cheek, Odogu, Estupinan departures, some on loan some on definitely departures save Milan 60 million.
      Enough for 4 good signings

      1. From loan buy-outs, we are already getting close to 75M.

Bondo, Benny, Camarda, Comotto, Zeroli and Musah are the only ones are coming back.

RLC and Estupinan also give close to 25M so you have a ~100M. my 4 players are around 40M, 60M is more than enough for additional quality 1-2 signings.

  1. All we can do is hope, hope that Cardinale gets his head out of his a“ and gives Allegri the players he needs along with one chef in the kitchen and not 5 others that are incompetent and only damage our chances to do something decent next season

    1. Name specifically what allegri wanted and who he would have been happy in getting. No one seems to know exactly what would have satisfied Allegri.

      1. The one he explicitly mentioned was Rabiot. You can see his impact to Milan, can’t you? The others, he mentioned about position and characteristic. He explicitly mentioned that needed a classic striker (ala Giroud), while he got Nkunku.

He also mentioned that he needed a CB on the last winter, which he didn’t get. He also stated that he needed experienced figures in the team.

        1. I’m with Ibra Ba here. Allegri mentioned roles/profiles, not names explicitly (i think other than Rabiot). But he wanted a CB, and a hold up play CF. He got no CB and Nkunku. So, not exactly the profiles he wanted. Nevertheless, In the issue here, I’m tempted to say i’m team Allegri and that Zlatan (as legendary as a player as he is) should leave. As boring as Allegri is sometimes, he is a winner. He won with us back in the day, he won with Juve as well, he’s a stable guy. Not the best but probably what we need for now. Zlatan on the other hand, has done nothing as a Director. I’d say for now, he needs to get some experience and then perhaps come back.

      2. fully fleshed out team
        quality LM/LWB
        2 CBs
        Solid STs
        More exp in the midfield.
but he got fulkrug nkunku estupinian kept rlc gimenez and no more 2 CBs making the 2 attackers upfront got confused since it should’ve been leao pul SS and 2 Quality ST young & exp players

      3. No, literally everybody knows. He said exactly the same thing last summer. He is again asking for the same. Experienced CB (not De Winter), same in midfield (he got Rabiot but says he needs one more) and a goalscoring striker that can hold up the ball. He asked for those 3 players last summer, he got 1.

  2. All we need is Allegri, a new SD who gets to make the ultimate decisions on transfers (they might be approved/disapproved by the CEO), and a new CEO who strictly stays away from sporting decisions. Ibrahimovic and Moncada are completely irrelevant in the management as they provide no value to the organization. Furlani and Tare are never going to get along well. So the best course of action is to just drop these four names and only replace them with two capable names.

    1. Moncada is not a bad scout, u would be setting milan a step back and as such closer to the banter era. Furlani actually got players who fit a style of football. But the agenda is to the win and that means spending more on more players and on guarantees, this is not in Furlani’s hands. It is sincerely on time and on the league making more money. I think Allegri will keep playing shit football and make Milan look like shit as long as Milan only make a capital gains because of selling players and winning titles. This was what Galliani needed when he wanted to get Tevez as well. So financially nothing has changed in terms of what is needed to be stable and effective.

  3. if allegri stays, im not going to watch the next season.
furlani, ibrahimovic and allegri all should leave.
but Tare did amazing with selling players and signing modric and renewing contracts especially the maignan’s. So i’d keep only Tare!
But Allegri not only is stubburn and plays players in positions they dont play, and dont trust young players and never starts them, but he only defends and is so painful to watch for 2 hours a boring game. ALLEGRI HAS TO GO!

    1. allegri dont trust young players explain barteseghi athekame ricci game time
positions that they dont play name one
      he is stubburn true
but with a little better team he is going to be the best coach we had since pioli good seasonat milan
the real problem is ibra and furlani
also allegri wanted to keep gabbia when they wanted to try and sell him. Tare did ok but not that good to stay but if they cant find better one he can stay but firlani and ibra should leave and everything will change for the better trust

      1. He literally used estupinan off the bat and would have kept using him until he became a liability and then he used Barteseghi.

Athekame was only used after he rinsed Saelemaekers, and when he looked more fit Athekame did not get a look at the first team.

Ricci got time only when his preferred choices were tired and needed to sit it out or they were shitong the bed.

He literally never gave them a really good chance at the first team slot because his preferred choices weren’t shiting the bed like Estupinan.

I think I wrote it down here that even before pre season friendlies. That Allegri will run Modric into the ground before giving Jashari a shot. I was proven correct. Allegri is predictable like that.

Allegri is stubborn is too vague. He is too tactically stubborn, he will never change and he will keep playing his style even if he has below average players. He can make it work but that is who he is. Of course you get him a 27 year old casemiro, Modric and Kroos and he will win u a league title. But Milan does not have the money for that.

I don’t like to hear rumours on who he wanted or who he didn’t want at the club. He is known to like experienced players over younger players and Gabbia will be thrown out of he got Thiago Silva. That is Allegri.

  4. What kind of jedi mind control does Allegri have? How can you serve up this sh!tshow all season and make every forward actively worse and somehow convince the boss that everyone but you should go?

    1. Allegri has the biggest salary and getting rid of him will be cost a lot. It’s always about money with Milan these days. Always.

        1. Pioli. And Pioli made the team play well too instead of the ugliest football on the planet with very, very lucky wins every now and then.

  5. If milan qualify for next champs league, then allegri would have achieved milan’s main objective this year although we have to admit that the team has many weakneses. So he deserves to remain for another year.
For season 26/27 the team needs to be strengthened not least by 2 strong attackers and another central defender. If milan get the players that allegri wants, the team would then need to play strong, forceful, offensive football that gives good results. If, however, allegri gets the players he wants and the team continues to play dull unattractive football with lots and lots of back and horizontal passes and many wins by 1-0, then it would be time to say goodbye.

  6. Both Allegri and Tare should stay with Ibra and Furlani out.

Tare did well with all the sales and Maignan extention. He persuaded Modric and brought Rabiot on Allegri’s request. Jashari started his career with horrible injury and so should be judged only after having a full preseason and season under his belt. Remember Tonali and Kessie’s first season.

After 3 seasons of chaos and panic under RedBird it’s time for stability.
