AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale believes that the summer transfer budget given to Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara should be enough for the summer and the winter transfer windows, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), Cardinale has not been willing to grant any additional funds to Maldini and Massara in January for budgeting reasons.
The money that was given to the two directors and spent on the likes of Charles De Ketelaere, Aster Vranckx and Malick Thiaw should have been enough to run into the January transfer window as well.
The board were asked for extra funds to meet the demands for AS Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo who is on the market, but they denied the request.
There will not be any fresh cash to spend until the summer transfer window, meaning Milan fans should not expect a new signing in the next few days.
In a way I sort of support this idea, all the new players bought in the summer are good buys, with the exception of Florenzi and Messias, all the new players must be given a chance, if u continuously play them , and guide them, they will be good buys….
Finally some sensible comment.
I’m trying to me figure out what exactly people expect them to do in a winter transfer window…….WINTER! we have what we have, it’s really up to Pioli to use them or not use them
All I see is a bunch of spoiled brats…. gimme gimme gimme
Sensible? The club sporting department is asking for funds to add the players the team is missing and you agree with owners decline????? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Buy a brain, yppu are typing like fans asked Cardinale for a signing, not Maldini and Masara…😂😂😂
They had a budget for the season and spent it all in one transfer window. Not sure why people are surprised the request was declined otherwise why bother having a budget in the first place?
Plus they already have too many players and need to get rid of the deadwood (ie. Baka) first. So yeah, M&M f’ed it up themselves already in the summer by splashing out all the money without making good sales.
You make no sense, we had some clubs spending big on many palyer early season and they still had several flops [this happens in football management it’s not new]
Milan managed a signing and some hurried loans, not been able to effectively patch certain ailing positions.
Some of these same clubs that spent seriously are completing major signings of good players this mid_saeson.
…you are now telling me Milan don’t even have money for a loan considering the major lapses present in our team that don’t make sense.
Who are this Guys that bought the club, something Is really off.
You obviously have NO IDEA what you’re talking about, but more than just likely, you’re completely unaware of it!
Therefore, what would. be the use of telling you how thjbgs truly are, and where those playrs you’ve mentioned stand.
It’s funny how media and some fans want to make this Milan only, or Cardinale only issue.
In reality, it seems that 95% of the owners in European football, with few and far between exceptions like EPL clubs, think that the summer budget should cover both the summer and the winter transfer window, since NONE OF THEM IS BUYING PLAYERS this January.
I saw a graphic that said, so far in this January window
EPL clubs have spent 352 mil
Bundesliga clubs 34 mil
La Liga clubs 23 mil
Serie A clubs 9 mil
Ligue one clubs 8 mil.
But sure, let’s push this agenda, that the issue is the cheap and broke new Milan owner who doesn’t understand football
Thank you. This guy 👆 also gets it
Clubs don’t spend in winter window too. There aren’t much available. This isn’t a broke issue, it’s a sustainability issue. Too many Milan fans have been spoilt..we used to be the Man City of Europe l. We’re no longer that
Respectfully – because most of those other teams all spent huge amounts in the summer to cover all of their needs which we did NOT. So your making a false comparison IMO. IF we had spent more in summer – say 80-100M – then we would have already had our RW, our proper CB (botman) and our DM (Sanches or most likely just resigned Kessie) all who M&M originally wanted. BUT given the small budget they could not afford all those signings – so they pivoted to younger mostly unproven players – which generally take a year or more to develop (see Tonali, Leao, etc..)
So while I also don’t have an issue with (and could agree with) the overall stance that one transfer period (summer) should cover both summer and winter – that ASSUMES – the summer window was properly funded and satisfied. Again, In our case it was NOT. You can blame M&M for that – they chose the current signings (could have went after another CB when Botman was lost instead of going after CDK) True – BUT a you can also blame Ownership because we know those were not the players M&M originally wanted. If it were up to M&M they would have signed BOTH Botman and CDK AND resigned Kessie or Signed Sanches straight away. THAT IS THE POINT. IF a proper budget was given we wouldn’t be in this mess. Botman, CDK, Zyiech and Sanches or Kessie, back up LB & keeper would have been signed and/or retained. But they weren’t given the $$ so they have to make due with Thiaw, Poegba, Aster, etc…M&M weren’t asking to sign 80M ready-made players…. They were asking to sign 30M players – which that is the cost in todays market for a promising prospect like a Botman or CDK. BOTH should have been purchased not one s the other. If we cannot purchase a young player for 25-30M then Redbird have no business owning a football club. yes once and a while you will find a Kalulu on the cheap. But that rarely happens. .inflation my friends – prices for players are going up not down.
ya ya I know, well some will say 50M is a lot of $$ for “an Italian team” – look what Napoli did? Yes their market was fantastic THIS summer – but what did Napoli do the year before? Not so good and they did t win. No director is perfect, many make mistakes. Last year M&M we’re almost perfect. This year the opposite so far (i say so far because these players are young and save for CDK and Dest, haven’t really had significant playing time to make such determine if they are flops or not).. SO That is also something that should be factored in every year as an owner – transfer misses – and that you may need to make a REASONABLE signing in January (like Aouar?) to make up for it. Taking a hard line stance doesn’t make sense. We also can’t predict injuries – so consideration must be given there as well. Further, Milan are not Napoli. Redbird should know this. We have a history that demands much higher expectations than Napoli (no offense). Cardinale said he knew that when he bought our club. So I don’t give a $hit what Napoli does or doesn’t do or any other club – we are Milan.
Also I would like to ask what is the alternative? Meaning ok you take a hard line stance of summer signings only. As an owner are you willing to risk CL qualification over that? Very risky but one Redbird I guess is willing to take. Missing out on CL will cost much more than an extra 20M in transfer fees in January and sets the project back years. What established players will want to come if we miss our on CL and have to put them under a wage cap? And which current players will continue to stay without CL? So there is MUCH MORE to LOSE than the 20M being requested. It’s their money and they can do what they want, but for those defending this summer or nothing transfer policy – all fine – but it’s only fair that in the summer, management is given a proper budget to get the players they identify as needs to improve the squad. This did not happen in our case and I think generalizing misses the point.
Milan spent around 50/60 million this summer…
Ya and unfortunately in football that is not much at all. Just reality. 25-30M is needed to buy great prospects – like Botman, Fofana, Olmo, Leao, Tomori, Tonali, Theo, Szobozlai, etc…you know the players M&M really wanted. Now how much are all of those players worth? Fofana sold for 80; Olmo Szs and Botman worth 40-50M each? Leao 100 plus; Theo 50-60M? Etc…M&M know what they are doing – give them the $ and they will create an amazing team. But yea like any human being they are not perfect. BUT if we purchased the players they originally wanted we wouldn’t be in the situation we are in now IMO
Gone are the days you can find a player like Kaka for 8-10M….very rare. That same player is worth 30m now and who knows if they will pan out. Just the current situation. All teams have smartened up and won’t give players away for cheap now. Belgium is getting expensive…lol. Belgium. France was cheap now it’s getting pricer. Brazil is expensive. If you can’t afford it sell the team.
Olmo and szoboszlai were actually Boban’s ideas that he was working on.
It was Maldini who backed out of the deal for szoboszlai.
Milan could have also had Fofana while he was still at Saint Etienne. Maldini messed up that negotiations too.
Milan paid the same amount for tomori as Leicester did for Fofafa.
Maldini also messed up the negotiations for Simakan. He didn’t want to pay extra 2 mil(money that he had by his own admission). Strasbourg wanted 15, Maldini negotiated for 2 months offering 13. At the end, he end up signing Tomori for almost 35 mil. Don’t you think that 20 mil difference could have been used on a Rw.
He also messed up the negotiations for Kouadio Kone over a million. He is now one of the best DMs in Bundesliga.
Kessie agent said something that people didn’t catch it. He said: everyone is blaming Kessie but there is something wrong going on during negotiations at Milan, because it wasn’t just Kessie but 3 other players contract negotiations were dragged out and end up leaving for free”.
@Poli..
Criticizing is fine.. but You really need to stop blindly hating on Maldini and making up outright lies to justify your UTTER BULL$HIT. This is outright pathetic. Let me show you how pathetic your bull$hit is.
“It was Maldini who backed out of the deal for szoboszlai.”
No. It was Nagelsman who convinced Szobozlai to join RB leipzig. Maldini never backed out of it, he was priced out of it as well as Nagelsman was more convincing.
“Milan could have also had Fofana while he was still at Saint Etienne. Maldini messed up that negotiations too.”
Of course he did. If Fofana was THAT good, he wouldn’t be in RC lens at 27 y/o playing avg at best. You are saying it like Maldini missed out on F’ing Messi. lol
“Maldini also messed up the negotiations for Simakan. He didn’t want to pay extra 2 mil(money that he had by his own admission). Strasbourg wanted 15, Maldini negotiated for 2 months offering 13. At the end, he end up signing Tomori for almost 35 mil. Don’t you think that 20 mil difference could have been used on a Rw.”
Mohammed Simakan? LMFAO Dude is only average at best at RB Leipzig with a 6.63 avg rating out of
10 while Tomori Kalulu pairing played a big part in us winning the scudetto with their defending. But oh NO. TOMORI WRONG. MALDINI BAAD.
“He also messed up the negotiations for Kouadio Kone over a million. He is now one of the best DMs in Bundesliga.”
Another Bull$hit lie. Read the link below. Kone chose bundesliga for playing time. And he would’ve never been chosen over Tonali, Bennacer and Kessie in Milan. I mean look at Vrankxx. Kone made a sensible choice.
http_s://sempremilan.com/agent-of-toulouse-midfielder-explains-why-client-snubbed-maldinis-advances-to-join-monchengladbach
“Kessie agent said something that people didn’t catch it. He said: everyone is blaming Kessie but there is something wrong going on during negotiations at Milan, because it wasn’t just Kessie but 3 other players contract negotiations were dragged out and end up leaving for free”.”
Kessie accepted Barca by winter. He clearly made his mind up. He didn’t play his best game throughout the entire season. Of course his agent is gonna spew bull$hit. If A player wants to leave for fee, he IS Going to leave for free. There is NOTHING a club can do to change that. Haven’t you seen Bale-RM fiasco? Even the best Club in world football couldn’t do $hit against Bale. Who the F ARE YOU?
You wanna hate Maldini? Fine. Hate him at least for something valid instead of some made up cr@p in your head. Try to get out of your prejudice for once and get well soon.
Now.. for the signings. You all are saying Adli, Vrankxx, Thiaw, CDK, Origi failed..?
How much of these players have you seen? Before you go on about CDK.. here is a question..
NAME ONE no 10 Who played well under Pioli in Pioli’s ENTIRE CAREER. BET you cant. Has it ever occur to you that maybe.. just MAYBE.. it isn’t CDKs fault?
In case if you hadn’t notice, it took Leao 3 years to start playing half decent and to this day, we cant use his strengths. Not A SINGLE Signing worked in their first year under Pioli while Napoli, somehow got the best of every player they signed. Must be the fault of Sporting Director right?
The only failed signings so far that I see, is Origi, but he came for free.
All I ask is dont fall for the lies of his Poli dude. Judge facts for yourself. Maldini isn’t perfect and of course mistakes are there and there are a LOT for him to learn, but at the moment, Milan needs Maldini the most. He knows what he is doing. If Maldini could get his way and got Botman and Sanchez.. Milan would never be in this mess in the first place and these haters would still be burning in their stink caves instead of crawling out spewing lies.
Forza Milan.
@Maldini4lyf
– If Nagelsman was more convincing than Maldini then Maldini failed cuz he went there for the same money.
– Fofana plays for Chelsea after 80 mil move not for Lens
– You say Simakan is average, so is Tomori. No Kessie in front of him to protect him and we see how good he actually is. One of them cost 15 the other 35. If Tomori is so good how come no one is trying to sign him back at the EPL. Maybe you should watch Simakan instead of just looking at the rating on some app
– If Maldini planned ahead what can happen with Kessie, since he was involved in the negotiations, he could have recognized that Kessie wasn’t going to stay, sell him and sign Kone with promise that he would get more time. No planning, no back up plan, that’s why we don’t have any backups for Tonali and Bennacer.
Wolfsburg got rid of Vranckx because he wasn’t good and that’s why he doesn’t play at Milan either
Cant do nothing if a player wants to leave on a free transfer. You can’t do nothing only if you are incompetent.
– Kessie had a 5 year contract, Who allowed the players to enter the last year of that contract without an extension or plan to sell? That would be Maldini. Just like with Hakan, Donnarumma and Romagnoli. Even Romagnoli just said there was no clarity by Milan when it came to his contract.
What Bale Fiasco? no one wanted that semi pro golf player. plus his salary was so high that 99.9% of the clubs couldn’t afford it and those that could didn’t want him. That’s why he just retired.
I can name one n10 that played well under Pioli , his name is Hakan Calhanoglu. He was one of our best players who helped Milan change from a shit show to a respectable team after the covid break, check your apps.
If Maldini got his way with Botman and Sanches. you mean the same Sanches that cant string 3 games in a row without getting injured. He would have fit right in with Origi and Florenzi another 2 great signings by Maldini. Thank God he didn’t get his way with Renato Sanches. But If Moncada got his way we would have had Enzo Fernandez and Kolo Muani not Vranckx and Origi.
But Maldini knows what he is doing. Thanks to Moncada we at least got Kalulu.
Forza Maldini
Again, you are missing one major issue. You believe that the money for transfers should only come out of the owners pocket. Maldini has to contribute in the budget with sales. I doubt that if he is capable of selling players that the money he would collect from sales RedBird will keep for themselves and won’t let him use it for purchases.
You say M&M had almost perfect Mercato last year.
Let’s see last years mercato
Tomori and Tonali buyout paid, plus
Maignan ✅️ , Giroud ✅️ ,
Florenzi, Bakayoko, Ballo Toure, Messias, Pellegri, Brahim return
Milan problems are not just because of this year’s mercato but also last year’s.
You say no offense to Napoli, but Milan has higher expectations.
I say that in today’s football Milan and Napoli are clubs on the same level.
Most of our fans wanna rest on past laurels. On our history. That’s ancient history.
We haven’t been relevant in Europe since probably 2010.
Milan is not a big club in today’s football. Milan expectations are top 4 and trying to get out of their group in UCL. Same as Napoli’s.
They both don’t own a stadium, both play in stadiums that are falling apart, and both play in a league that doesn’t make money and the only players that cone in that league are young players to use it as a launching pad, old players to retire or flops who go to serie A to revive their careers.
If you haven’t been, not just relevant, but an actual joke for major part of 15 years you can’t expect to be back in relevancy because of one scudetto in the worst of the top leagues in Europe.
Milan climb to relevancy will be long. Will start once the clubs starts creating much more revenue, be that thru stadium, tv rights, commercial revenue or players sales.
RedBird should follow Elliotts example.
Elliott 1st important move was to higher a top executive that will get the structure of the club in order. Which they did with Gazidis. They even paid arsenal to buy him out of his contract.
First important move for RedBird should be to higher top sporting director instead of the current amateur. Even if they have to pay some other club for that SD.
The word that we are constantly hearing is SELF SUSTAINABILITY.
You can’t be self sustainable as a club if your SD is incapable of making sales which is a big part of self sustainability
“You believe that the money for transfers should only come out of the owners pocket.”
People who think like that don’t have the slightest idea how to operate a football club – or company. It’s not the owner’s responsibility to pour cash in to get things done, nope. Hell no!
The company/club has to create a budget that provides INCOME and not losses. Right now Milan fails to do that. They need to make profit in order to get bigger transfer budget. It REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE. Not a filthy rich owner who sends in a cheque every month to cover the expenses.
@Poli!
“You can’t be self sustainable as a club if your SD is incapable of making sales which is a big part of self sustainability”
Owner doesn’t matter? How many players have PSG sold? How do they afford Messi Neymar and MBappe + that doll@rumma.. Ramos? What about Juve?
Moreover, here is a general common sense thing that might be too much for you to get.. but anyway..
YOU
CANT
SELL
A
PLAYER
WHO
WANTS
TO
LEAVE
FOR
FREE.
The club was infested with Raiola clients and Raiola was the p1g who started the whole cr@p of players leaving for free with Dollarumma and pogba inspiring other sh1tb@gs to do so. Wanna blame someone? Blame that piec3 of $hit agent for players leaving for free.
Instead of cr@p.. At least say something that makes sense.
Forza Milan.
These guy(Cardinale) is a joker, n shld find something else to do. Just €50m was released for the last transfer, so, aside CDK, the Directors couldn’t get any quality players. Who spends such paltry amount on two transfer windows? This man is simply frustrating Maldini n Massara. We have a coach who cannot. say what he wants, and Directors, who do not get what they think is best for the club. Ultimately, Maldini will get tired, and leave, and, Cardinale would sell to someone else. Milan will not achieve anything with this strict-budget policy under him.
” Just €50m was released for the last transfer, so, aside CDK, the Directors couldn’t get any quality players. Who spends such paltry amount on two transfer windows?”
Clubs who cannot make profit.
Most clubs don’t make a PROFIT . It’s about REVENUE. Learn accounting. Out of 1000 teams – like 10 made a PROFIT. European football is not meant to run as a profitable club it is meant to generate revenue. READ: https://sqaf.club/most-profitable-football-clubs/
REVENUE is what matters. We need more revenue- so yes having a richer owner does help. Why? 1. The can build a new stadium that will generate more REVENUE. 2. A rich owner that owns a sponsor (oh like Qatar Airlines, or Jeep) can sign us to an BS sponsorship deal to funnel more revenue to us that way. 3. Rich owners will invest in facilities and training which doesn’t count against expenditures (alike Man City) AND attracts better talent young talent that u can flip for profit down the road and attracts better coaches. YES having a rich owner is better than having a poor one or one that doesn’t spend (like ours). Facts matter
The minute I see anyone calling for Sanches to be signed, I conclude they know nothing about football. You’re still suggesting he was a loss, after 6 months at PSG in which he did absolute **** all? He’s no good.
A CDM who scored 2 goals in 330 mins played in 11 matches.. Yup he MUST Be no good oh almighty wise football genius.
We needed a player who could do Kessie’s job that’s all. Sanchez would suit perfectly. PSG dont need one for they already have better. They signed him as a BACKUP.
You are all geniuses. The winter window always existed to add if your team is missing something. The new owner is the issue, as club has staff that scouts and decides which players to go for, and they did. Cheap owner declined. That is the issue.
😂😂😂😂 Yeah, the whole sporting department of Milan are all idiots. Maldini, Masara, Moncada and so on. Cardinale knows better than them, 100% 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m sure Cardinale knows finances better than those three. Or you.
Nah, he is american’s yonghong li.
So you thought 25M in the summer and 25 M in January should enough for a team that won the scudetto? Wtf cheap American I hope Skye blue with the lawsuit kick them out of AC Milan because you don’t buy anything in today’s market with only 25 M who found those guys . PS that money you guys put in Liverpool but you have only 10% so there it shouldn’t matter how much you put cardinale but here … Somehow and I believe something fishy u did with singer you have the most % at AC Milan so now it does Matter how much u put and it should have been way more wtf like 100M maldini wanted and if u believe in the team u bought you would know that maldini wouldn’t spend all that for one player. CDK 32M no vranckx kicked bakayoko no dest no origi but 68 M and maybe it’s two more 30 30 or 4, like 15 15 + 15 15. YOU DON’T BELIEVE IN THIS TEAM SO WHY YOU BOUGHT IT + PLEASE BLUE SKYE KICK THEM AND LET US GET THE BAHRAINI BACK BECAUSE THEY WOULD WANT TO GIVE WAHTEVER MALDINI WANTED. AND LAST MALDINI MASSARA MONCADA WOULD WANT STILL WITH BAHRAINI TO MAINTAIN THEIR PROJECT
No wonder media like tuttosports, calciomercato, etc are still alive because people are so easy to mislead with fake news.
Da*mn. The new owner is cheap and broke.
The club is. Owner’s wealth has nothing do with this. Milan makes loss every year and until they turn it around and make profit, they’ll have a tiny transfer budget. Why? Because of FFP.
Nah, this owner is broke.. still figuring how to pay his loan with other people money.. no wonder he wont invest for now..
98% of teams do NOT make a profit you idiot. It’s about REVENUE. Read: https://sqaf.club/most-profitable-football-clubs/
We don’t make enough of it. If your waiting for a team to make a profit that may never happen. Fkn @bb LOL
What exactly was the budget that could cover summer & winter transfer?
Can we have an exact number?
Sometimes for specific players you change your budget. It’s not always black and white.
The truth be said, we need figures for money made available for transfer so far. There’s something not clear about the takeover. Who buys a club and leaves it in limbo?
budget what???
RedBird take over it was in september (after summer market is closed) CDK is goodbye gift from Elliot.
RedBird : about the potential market value “we’re the 2nd greatest most succesful club of Europe after RM”. about investing “we can’t compete with such Burnmouth or Leeds”.
why you buy Milan??? why not Parma or Sampdoria??? you can’t build car like Fiat to compete with Ferrari in F1…
The point is, for all the great signings Maldini made, he also made poor ones: Dest, Vranckx, Origi, Mirante, Tatu, Ballo Toure, Bakayoko (Maybe Adli and Thiaw). CDK is still a wild card – has time to improve; All this dead weight needs to be sold off and room be made for new salaries;
Milan have many players on the roster and very little quality, so Pioli struggles for depth off the bench every game and has to use the same tired players.
So yea, Maldini – clean up the house before you ask money to buy more players.
“Now.. for the signings.
Has it ever occur to you that maybe.. just MAYBE.. it isn’t CDKs fault.
In case if you hadn’t notice, it took Leao 3 years to start playing half decent and to this day, we cant use his strengths. Not A SINGLE Signing worked in their first year under Pioli while Napoli, somehow got the best of every player they signed. Must be the fault of Sporting Director right?”
I copy pasted it from another reply of mine. Sorry about that. But it fits. lol
It’s unfair to blame Maldini by calling these signings failed when we have a coach who NEVER made ANY Signing work at the first season. Patience is needed before we dish out the judgement.
“we have a coach who NEVER made ANY Signing work at the first season”
Maybe that’s because those players are not up to the standards when Milan signs them.
Leao was only 20 and immature.
Tonali also 20 had only 1 year in serie A and was relegated.
Kalulu 19, never played a 1st team football before he came to Milan.
Adli 21, came from a relegated team in France.
Thiaw only 21 came from a team that just achieved promotion in the German league.
Vranck came from a team that barely survived relegation and is only 20.
People act like Maldini is providing pioli with some super talents and ready made players and the coach just doesn’t know how to use them. But in reality these players are nothing special and are not up to the standards of Milan as of yet.
CDK wasn’t ready to move out of Belgium yet either.
Its the club policies made by owner which maldini comply.. Young & cheapest.. It just Italian coaches believes in experiance more than talent & they wont take risk even in bad days, they need to change that mindset.. without enough chances how can ones accumulate experiances?..
My guy, you remember that Pioli had the youngest squad in Europe in 2020, 2021. If he had no issues using younger players back then, why would he have an issue using them right now unless the young players that he has at his disposal right now are not up to standards. He is the one that watches these players in training every day while we think that Afli is a great player because of couple preseason games vs some tomato cans teams from lower level leagues
He have no choice that time so the player got chances and grow, now he only prefered player he familiar with even when they underperformed.
NOPE.
Krava is 21.
How is he a beast in Napoli in first season? You gotta admit Pioli’s shortcomings as much as we admire his strengths.
The players Maldini brought became superheroes within the next seasons and won scudetto. Why couldn’t they do it in first? I bet all these players have qualities we will see soon. We just need patience instead of calling for heads.
Thiaw already won us a match if I remember correctly by saving two sure goals with last ditch tackles.
The thing is.. NO ONE is born ready. You need to Get them ready. You think Krava was ready to play like a beast? Spaletti made him ready.
Point…. ” bad signings hurt Milan and crippled chance to make a dent into CL let alone enforce pain on Iter, Napoli and Juve
As for the title maybe next season will Milan deliver
Pioli know well enough that having an unsatisfactory season opens the door for him to exit job
Management has failed Milan as any director of a successful company has a plan, a strong plan and that plan is a 2 to 3 years in advance plan
The management are flying on a window to window plan that has them scrabbling for money and players that lead to bad last minute signings
The Newcastle winger is what Milan need, be it on loan dry or loan to buy…… get him to save inbaressmelnt !!!!
I wouldn’t agree to that. Management has clear plans, we just dont have the budget.
We needed Botman in defense and with a new CDM Playing, we would’ve been fine. Management saw what we didnt. Even after we won Scudetto, Maldini figured out our defense is weak and wanted Botman and we all screamed that we don’t need Botman.
Now we are paying the price.
As for the Newcastle winger.. I fear he will turn into Saele under Pioli because our coach couldn’t get the team to properly coordinate attacks in 3 years, which means it’s never happening. So it all boils down to individual skills up front.
What was done with the money for piatek and paqueta sale and some other cheap sales we made
ÿeah wehat happpen
FFP Book balancing!
192 mil loss to 30 mil loss. How do you think it happened?
I’m tired of people complaining and bitching how broke our owner is. The owner’s wealth has nothing do with this situation. Milan makes loss every year and until they turn it around and make profit, they’ll have a tiny transfer budget. Why? Because of FFP. Why is it so f*ng hard to understand?
TRUE.
And here is the fun part..
To see profit.. we need to stay in UCL for the next two seasons.. ! Aka.. pathetic transfer market movements will commence no matter who our SD is. I would prefer Maldini at the helm. here is why..
What Maldini did is, create a scouting team to scout the young talents. He knows that’s the only way to get our Milan out of the mess we are in… but the bottleneck is.. the coach. Pioli cant integrate new players fast enough into teh system and messes them up because Pioli doesn’t know exactly how the System works.
The only reason we won Scudetto is because Maldini brought some awesome players and Ibra in the dressing room. Pioli doesn’t even know what makes his formation work and this season is a BURNING evidence for it.
But the silverlinging is, Moncada’s primavera signings are starting to shine. Soon enough we will have primavera players into our squad who would be at least better than utter cr@p.
But The Owner Literally is broke. NO one can deny that. Dude begged EVERYONE in Hollywood for money. If Owner was rich.. there are too many channels to inject money into the club that will be shown as profits.. such as 400mil sponsorship deals, just the way Arabs do things.
Owners need to have the passion for football. I would have much preferred Elliott to stay instead of this nobody. At least Singers love watching football and stayed present for every game. We were on the right path. If they waited for two more years.. They could’ve sold Milan for much more than 1.8bn.
So Pioli, the coach that led Milan to the 1st scudetto in a decade don’t know the system and formation but Maldini, the man who keeps losing Pioli’s favorite players like Hakan and Kessie without replacing them or he replaces them with below average players knows the system? 👍
“Our owner is broke and begs people In Hollywood for money.” Wow. The man is in charge of an INVESTMENT FUND. Maybe you should educate yourself on what is an investment fund/firm and how it works. RedBird is the owner of Milan not Cardinale.
So no one knows nothing at Milan, the coach, the owner no one except Maldini.
“If Owner was rich.. there are too many channels to inject money into the club that will be shown as profits.”
Well if Maldini was capable there is a channel of injecting more money into the transfer fund by let’s say selling players.
Moncada, the chief scout, the reason behind many of our young player signed was acquired in December of 2018. At that point Maldini was a nobody at Milan, so he has no role into the creation of our scouting team.
At least write something that is based on facts
Facts remains, maldini not in power to finalised signing and increase salary caps.. If there is someone in managemet who cares about the club, its Maldini.. they use his influence and put him in firing line..
Yes, i do agree maldini should have sale the likes of Donna, hakan, kessie before they run free.. but then the team likely to destabilized more than now..
Was the club destabilized when Gigio left?
No. Now imagine selling Gigio for 60, 70 mil, investing 15 in Maignan to replace him and still having over 50 mil to buy a RW or a striker.
Same with the other players.
When you sell them instead of letting them leave for free, you get money in return, money which you can use to replace those players
“December of 2018. At that point Maldini was a nobody at Milan, so he has no role into the creation of our scouting team.”
If that was it, how is that the best players were scouted and purchased by Maldini? How come Gattuso didn’t get any of those young Talents?
“So Pioli, the coach that led Milan to the 1st scudetto in a decade don’t know the system and formation but Maldini, the man who keeps losing Pioli’s favorite players like Hakan and Kessie without replacing them or he replaces them with below average players knows the system? 👍”
Then how does a scudetto winning team has no clue what to do during attack for 3 whole years? How come strikers remain without service for three years? How come when Zlatan plays, the team plays like a beast? It’s not that Pioli is a bad coach, he has his strengths, but he also has severe weaknesses. And you can’t ignore those.
“Well if Maldini was capable there is a channel of injecting more money into the transfer fund by let’s say selling players.”
Players who wants to leave for free, WILL Leave for free. Owners, management, coach, club, ballboys, Hotmedics.. every one is powerless. Players like Messi, Pogba, Lewandowski left for free. Is it that hard of a fact to get. Raiola started that culture in Milan.
I write only based on facts.
““Our owner is broke and begs people In Hollywood for money.” Wow. The man is in charge of an INVESTMENT FUND. Maybe you should educate yourself on what is an investment fund/firm and how it works. RedBird is the owner of Milan not Cardinale.”
My apologies Kind sir.. REDBIRD.. your beloved Investment fund.. is broke. Is that grammatically correct now?
They had to loan 600 mil from Elliot to buy AC Milan. They didn’t even have the 1.2bn they were supposed to pay.. they literally begged it out of other investors in Hollywood and the payment isn’t complete to this day which led to an investigation by italian prosecutors. Which means, Cardinale and Redbird are Mega rich drowning is cash.. right? RIGHT? lol
You yourself can be in charge of an investment fund tomorrow with an international trade license.. it means NOTHING. Must be really hard to use your brain. lol
There are clubs who spent much,.much more than us in the early transfer season and had produced several flops [it’s part of the downside of management].
Yet they are spending money for purchases this mid season …pleeeeease don’t tell me Milan don’t even have money to loan players this is embarrassing and absurd.
Pioli has enough new toys and a Primavera that topped Chelsea in the Youth UCL. What’s the point in signing more players when it takes Pioli a year to trust them? Pioli hasn’t been put under enough pressure. He is too slow at integrating players.
@Maldini4lyf
– If Nagelsman was more convincing than Maldini then Maldini failed cuz he went there for the same money. Boban would have most likely closed the deal.
– Fofana plays for Chelsea after 80 mil move not for Lens. Get your facts straight.
– You say Simakan is average, so is Tomori. No Kessie in front of him to protect him and we see how good he actually is. One of them is average and costs 15 the other average 35. If Tomori is so good how come no one is trying to sign him back at the EPL. Maybe you should watch Simakan instead of just looking at the rating on some app
– If Maldini planned ahead what can happen with Kessie, since he was involved in the negotiations, he could have recognized early in the process that Kessie wasn’t going to stay, sell him and sign Kone with promise that he would get more time. No planning, no back up plan, that’s why we don’t have any backups for Tonali and Bennacer.
Wolfsburg got rid of Vranckx because he wasn’t good and that’s why he doesn’t play at Milan either.
Cant do nothing if a player wants to leave on a free transfer. You can’t do nothing only if you are incompetent.
– Kessie had a 5 year contract, Was he planning for 5 years that he would leave on free? Who allowed the players to enter the last year of that contract without an extension or plan to sell?
Cardinal even corados spend more than Milan. Low life
One day you will not be allowed to Italy
The owner knows how to use social media. I highly doubt some message here are hired by the owner to write and try to convince our fans.
Very interesting comments from some fans saying we cannot spend money because the owner set the money, EVEN OUR TEAM HAS PROBLEMS NOW.
It’s REVENUE you idiot @bb….. not PROFIT. 98% of clubs do NOT make a PROFIT. We need more REVENUE you donkey. Read: sqaf.club/most-profitable-football-clubs/
Hey clown, I really meant PROFIT.
“Revenue, also known simply as “sales”, does not deduct any costs or expenses associated with operating the business. Profit is the amount of income that remains after accounting for all expenses, debts, additional income streams, and operating costs.”
How much did they spend in the summer? They only decided to keep the deadwoods, so they won’t spend money… Cardinale is too stingy to be Milan owners… why didn’t they sign botman in the summer? Why didn’t they sign a RW or a good CF??? They didn’t even spend up to £50M…what other top clubs use in signing one player and they are saying no winter budget..stupid owners
Thank god for cardinale policy ….. it has helped milan to dump Zaniolo ….. he is always injured, has an unpleasant character, indisciplined and would probably disrupt whatever remains this year of strength of milan team.
shouldn’t sold Milan to red brid. It is 👎
Stop buying young players please!
@poli
“If Nagelsman was more convincing than Maldini then Maldini failed cuz he went there for the same money. Boban would have most likely closed the deal.”
Liepzig was in UCL and we were not. Is it that hard of a concept to grasp? Maldini simply didn’t have enough aces to convince any good player at that time. Milan was fighting for top 4.
– “Fofana plays for Chelsea after 80 mil move not for Lens. Get your facts straight.”
Great. Where is Chelsea now in EPL? Ever seen the table? 10th.
“You say Simakan is average, so is Tomori. No Kessie in front of him to protect him and we see how good he actually is. One of them is average and costs 15 the other average 35. If Tomori is so good how come no one is trying to sign him back at the EPL. Maybe you should watch Simakan instead of just looking at the rating on some app”
Tomori is average.. those words can only come from a fan who has ZERO idea about defending. Tomori has his strengths, also he has his weakness. Simakan has Zero strengths. Everything about him is average. If we wanted average, we didn’t need to sign Simakan. Anyone from serie B with 3 mil tag would do. Why go for 15 mil. If lack of one player makes an entire defense weak… it’s the fault of the coach. But not expecting you to understand.
“If Maldini planned ahead what can happen with Kessie, since he was involved in the negotiations, he could have recognized early in the process that Kessie wasn’t going to stay, sell him and sign Kone with promise that he would get more time. No planning, no back up plan, that’s why we don’t have any backups for Tonali and Bennacer.”
What made you think Maldini didn’t plan ahead? Did Maldini call you and tell you personally? Or back to resorting to lies again as usual? He would plan ahead with what money?
And why would a young Kone come to a team to become second fiddle to our mighty Krunic when he will be a guaranteed starter in any Bundesliga team?
“Wolfsburg got rid of Vranckx because he wasn’t good and that’s why he doesn’t play at Milan either.
Cant do nothing if a player wants to leave on a free transfer. You can’t do nothing only if you are incompetent.”
Again.. Another lie. I live in Hannover. Wolfsburg is our rival. Don’t try to bul$hit about bundesliga that you know nothing about to me. Moncada scouted Vrankxx a long time ago for Kessie replacement. Pioli failed to integrate him in the team this season.
“Kessie had a 5 year contract, Was he planning for 5 years that he would leave on free? Who allowed the players to enter the last year of that contract without an extension or plan to sell? That would be Maldini. Just like with Hakan, Donnarumma and Romagnoli. Even Romagnoli just said there was no clarity by Milan when it came to his contract.”
NO one ‘ALLOWED’ the player. The player decided it. If a player decides to see off his contract, he will do so. No SD or any other VIP can do anything. No body wanted Bale in RM, but could they get rid of him? NO. He finished his 5 year contract there before accepting a loan move to Spurs in the last year. RM had to pay his full salary. That’s how football works in case you didn;t know.
“I can name one n10 that played well under Pioli , his name is Hakan Calhanoglu. He was one of our best players who helped Milan change from a shit show to a respectable team after the covid break, check your apps.”
You just admitted that you didn’t watch ANY Milan game during Hakan era. lol If you did, you wouldn’t say that. Even Inter stopped using him as no10. And why are you mad about me using apps? lol I do and will use those apps. Don’t care if your lies gets exposed due to me using apps. Burn baby, Burn.
“If Maldini got his way with Botman and Sanches. you mean the same Sanches that cant string 3 games in a row without getting injured. He would have fit right in with Origi and Florenzi another 2 great signings by Maldini. Thank God he didn’t get his way with Renato Sanches. But If Moncada got his way we would have had Enzo Fernandez and Kolo Muani not Vranckx and Origi.”
The defense would be better with Botman, there would be a lot more attacks from midfield with Sanchez and he is a beast at defending. Who said Moncada Didn’t get his way? Milan was very much interested in Enzo, his agent got him to a deal in a hurry to Benfica. As for Kolo Muani, it was Massara who picked Origi over Kolo.
Anything else you wanna know? lol
Forza Milan.
Forza MALDINI.
