As we approach the final few days of the mercato, signing a central defender remains the big objective for AC Milan.
There have been contrasting reports for a while now about the defender. Goncalo Inacio has been the number one target for months, it seems, but there have been suggestions otherwise. In reality, it’s been a summer of names, with very little tangible movement.

For example, this morning, Inacio and Leny Yoro were put forward as targets before the mercato closes. However, alternative suggestions were made this afternoon, stating that no move could be made.
In other words, it seems like it could go right to the wire for a deal to happen.
The defender situation
Now Fabrizio Romano has provided an update about the central defender situation, and again, one name is specifically mentioned – as it has been all summer – as MilanNews relays.
“The news we’re receiving suggests that AC Milan is completely focused on other objectives. Amorim might even be interested in an additional central defender, but the owners and those managing the transfer window at the moment, primarily Gerry Cardinale, are all focusing on other options.
“Several names have been floated in the last few hours: for one, Nottingham Forest’s Morato. There’s also been a lot of talk about Goncalo Inacio, a profile that Amorim also likes, but AC Milan currently has other ideas and objectives.”
Inacio makes sense if Pavlovic leaves but I dont see this happening this year. Maybe in Jan or next summer.
Otherwise Tiago Gabriel is a possibility (to play RCB and Gila moves to the central / libero role)
If we cant get first choice targets , maybe better to wait and take a punt.on the youngsters, rather than signing a B level defender that we’ll all be clamoring to sell in a few months

What are Roma and Juve complete in?
to make it simple for you:
there are 2 side of squad building. starting 11 and then the depth. and none are perfect or global top 5 team level, never said that. but their weaknesses are less obvious than ours.
Mora, Castro, Bareldi, Malen, deRoon for Roma on top of keeping Dybala, Pellegrini (controversial but off-the-bench he had saved Roma in many big games, experienced leader from Roma’s youth) and also Ghilardi (who pocketed Leao last game, for actual football viewers)… their squad was either with expiring contracts, old bad deals or old bad players and they managed to stabilize it.
Their attack is currently more solid than our and it shows and even now they are targeting more attackers: Ghittens, Leweling, Fofana.
Moreira we just outbid them, would have been a menace and due to injury issue they missed out on Oosterwald, who can play anywhere. Only role missing is that partner for Wesley. so they are going for that right now. with all the financial issues and they are ready to spend. We are being delusional with Estupinian and RLC. Molina that signed for Roma is better than Estupinian and he might have been their biggest question mark signing.
5 solid players in double-pivot, 7 solid attackers, 6 CBs mix of young and established. Svilar on of the top keepers in Europe. Rensch and Molina I can reiterate for me are better than Estupinian so their finishing touches on another attacker who can also operate as wingback will finish their squad.
Alajbegovic, Papo Sarr, Lucumi for Juve. Celik for depth who had an amazing season with Gasperini. Boga similar to Pellegrini at Roma (saved their a$$es from Conference League), Ekhathor who is one of the most promising young attackers along with Camarda. only question marks are Kolo Muani and Vicario and in terms of quality again, and of course you can’t directly compare them but just by quality are better than RLC and Estupinian.
Roma and Juve covered their weaknesses better than we have. Hutchinson is not the issue… those 3 parasites are… Estupinan and RLC were our weakest link 2 games in a row now… when are we gonna wake up?!

CCB needs to be tall, have aerial dominance and good on his feet. Cubarsi is class not just because of his reading of the game and general passing skills… his long balls make him world class… that’s the important quality. We start our attacks from the back 3 and in both games even though it’s just been 2 games, we are way too slow… better teams will run us over like Chelsea did…

Personally we do need a CB but idk if Inacio is ideal not bc he’s quality (he’s good) but maybe there are more suitable players. Some of my examples like Tiago Gabriel 1,97 cm he can help when opposite side takes a corner or free kick and block shots and tackling others and use his body to keep Milan in control the ball.
Lukeba Leader mentality and good passer and tackling that can be a kinda DM in The center of center backs and Murillo Also but he has injury crisis.

What I meant to say is that Inacio is Amorim’s explicit wish but he most probably won’t be signed (this summer, at least) by us and I don’t see anything happening on that front because there is no serious talk of
an alternative and a quality signing worthy of Milan with just two days to go despite our more than evident issues in that department, that’s not how unconditional support works. We haven’t even tried to sign Inacio, that’s how weak that was. Hutch was supposedly sought and strongly demanded by Amorim in the end when he realized there is not going to be a (striking and permanent) signing there that could make a difference right away but I’m 100% sure that not only that kid wasn’t his first choice (we all see and realize that) but not even in his first five or ten targets on the list. If they consider that search/quest for AMC conluded and that position resolved now after this unexpected loan, that is how and what it is (bad in my opinion), and we still need (C)CB, RWB, (D)MC and backup SC. Perhaps that talk of a new RWB could wait a bit longer but this 3 things really couldn’t and shouldn’t.
All Cardinale has done every mercato is always on the surface, milan never addresses their quality and depth issue, every mecato you cant compare our investments to inter or napoli so lets not expect their results let not take out on the few good players , there will be obivious positions to strengthen but he just do some surface buys with some average players then be expecting the champions league. It should not be about winnig a few matches it should be about the team being strong enuf to withstand the season . Its obvious we need a striker and a defender but No we will use camada and want to win the league

Amorim stated that Gabbia is important because hes Italian and he knows Milan, its in his dna. He wont replace him because he bring alot of things outside the pitch which is also important, and those players are also needed in a squad.
Terrracciano is also Italian but not a Milan product and not as good, so hes expendable.
I think its a 25% chance Inacio arrives and 75% chance we just stick with Terracciano, but you never know 🙂
