CM: Cardinale ‘relaxed’ about Milan’s managerial situation as three week mark approaches

AC Milan are almost three weeks without having a proper managerial structure in place. However, Gerry Cardinale is not concerned.

There are always going to be questions when a big club is without the necessary structure in place for the season ahead, especially when the mercato is so close. So, with Milan currently lacking any top-level hires, they are in a questionable position.

Indeed, with no manager, sporting director, CEO or even chief scout, they are in a tricky situation when it comes to buying or selling players. This is because there is no one to make contact or no one to receive it.

Cardinale’s ‘relaxed’ approach

Despite all this, as Calciomercato.com reports, Gerry Cardinale is not feeling the pressure. In fact, today’s report states that he is ‘relaxed’ about the situation, even if the Rossoneri are ‘in turmoil’.

The reasoning is simple: he wants to take all the time necessary to find the right people to come into the club. After all, with this reset, it needs to be done right and if they have to wait for the right people to be available, so be it.

It is clear that the American sees this as a complete reset, taking them to a ‘year-zero’ situation. So, appointing people for the long-term is a must. It may be tough currently, but it should pay off eventually.

  1. In this case I rather see them take more time and get in place proper structure for a longterm project and not just throw in some randoms like Planes and Pochettino and be done with it. It would be another step backwards like hiring Fonzy. So ragebait report failed.

    1. Agreed. I think people need to realize that this is the true “Year Zero”. As such, expectations for next season ought to be lowered. I personally do not expect us to be in the running for a CL spot. I think we’ll be somewhere in the 5-8 positions, and it may be like this for more than one season. Next season will be a truly transitional season where some of the last scudetto side players leave (Leao and maybe Maignan), and this new project of top down (or bottom up I guess) player development that they’re talking about begins. We’ll know in 3-5 seasons if this is going to succeed. Coincidentally, 5 seasons from now will be the summer of 2031, when the new stadium ought to be ready for the run in to Euro 2032. This makes sense as my guess is that’s around when Gerry will put the club up for sale, or maybe in 2032, or 2033 after showing a couple of seasons of the increased revenues with the new stadium and the hosting of Euro 2032 matches.

    1. Cardinale: “thank you ac1899. Good decision need time. With rangnick as magician we can work after world cup.”

Rangnick: “just wait for me guys. I am magician. I will start working after world cup. Let others team start building for next season. As protagonist, we will come late. Just say the magic word, “ibrakadabra.””

  2. He is no rush because he is winning so much, can’t beat Gerry with standings on the table, he is winning in his head, Ibra is on holiday for the world cup….. just some world class ownership we have🤣🤣

  3. the deadline given by figc is June 16th. that’s just a couple of days left now. if cardinale reported to be relaxed about the situation even now, then probably there’s already candidate ready to be placed on each position. they just need to sign the paper. but after 4 years without direction…yeah i highly doubt him with a working long term project.

    1. They had a direction, it didn’t work. What they didn’t have is a long term strategy. They still don’t. That’s why Rangnick would be a significant hire.

  4. The cardinal may be rich and mighty but in terms of italian soccer he is a complete idiot, a clown, stupid and ignorant.

    1. Cardinale: “yes i am mighty, i am among 100 most influential people in sport.”

Cardinale: “to bad italian is weak, can not qualify 3 times for world cup. Now i have to give trust to foreign guy. Coach, sporting director, director of sport must be foreign guy. Event my personal advisor is Swedish guy.”

    1. Pioli: “i am sorry azzur, i can not bring milan to the scudetto again. How i can make milan great again if my beloved leao is gone next season. Please find another coach.”

  5. How can anyone still believe this man? He made promise after promise and failed to keep a single one. If he truly loved AC Milan, he would know exactly what needs to be done.
Football is not the stock market. Despite all his intelligence and business experience, he still hasn’t realized that he is simply not capable of managing a club of this stature. AC Milan deserves leadership that understands football, its history, and its fans—not just the balance sheet!!!!!
