It’s going to be a tumultuous start to the summer at AC Milan, with some changes expected to impact the upper management.
Gerry Cardinale has put everyone on the spot, and there are plans for incoming and outgoing moves to reorganise the hierarchy, one that the owner believes is not working. The name that will have a big say is board member Massimo Calvelli.

Calvelli + Carnevali
As reported by both Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPress), the former ATP CEO is not interested in replacing Giorgio Furlani and wants to continue overseeing RedBird’s sports-related projects, like the new stadium and possible NBA franchise.
However, as the owner’s new right-hand man, he will be the one to oversee the process that will lead to the decision on who will replace Furlani. The current CEO is set to leave at the end of the season, although the details are still being determined.
One of the names in contention to replace Furlani is Giovanni Carnevali, the current CEO of Sassuolo. He’s a popular prospect, but Juventus are also keeping an eye on him should they choose to part ways with Damien Comolli.
Calvelli is evaluating both Italian and foreign options, while Carnevali hinted at being open to the idea the other day. Adriano Galliani’s future could be tied to the Rossoneri in a significant role as he could be assigned the position of super-consultant.
