Carragher feels for Milan as Newcastle draw could ‘come back to haunt them’

AC Milan lost the big clash against PSG last night and thus have three tough games on the cards in the competition. They are still not out of the race, but one game in particular could come back to haunt them, as highlighted by Jamie Carragher.

Milan headed into last night’s clash against PSG with the hope of at least clinching a point and finally finding the back of the net. None of that ended up happening, and the Rossoneri now find themselves in a tough situation with three games to go.

Speaking live on CBS last night, the Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher shared his thoughts on Milan’s situation and he stated that he feels for them. He believes the draw against Newcastle, a game which they dominated, could come back to haunt them.

“They didn’t deserve to get anything from the game, but maybe that last goal puts an extra bit of gloss on it for PSG. I feel a little bit for Milan because the problem they’ve got is not what happened tonight, that’s the toughest away game and they probably expected to lose there. And going away to Dortmund they got a point, which isn’t bad.

“They battered Newcastle at home and they didn’t win, and that’s the game that may come back to haunt them as the group goes on. They still have two home games of the last three so they are still in it. Looking at the position they are in now, it’s not the end of the world losing tonight or getting a point at Dortmund, but in the game against Newcastle they were dominant,” he stated.

One positive is the fact that Milan will play two home games next, against PSG and Dortmund, before concluding the group stage with an away trip to Newcastle.
