Chelsea midfielder names two ex-Milan stars plus current target as his idols

Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has named two former AC Milan stars as being among his idol, as well as a transfer target too.

Casadei was born in Ravenna and grew up in Milano Marittima, joining the academy of Inter in 2018 where he quickly rose through the ranks, getting into the Primavera squad at the age of just 17.

However, last summer it was announced that Chelsea had agreed a deal to sign the then-19-year-old from the Nerazzurri, meaning he is now experiencing a new adventure in England.

Casadei gave an interview to SportWeek in which he was asked who his childhood idols were, with his comments relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“Kaka and Ronaldinho. I was in love with their way of playing, with how they managed to have fun with the ball at his feet,” he said.

“The strongest in my role? Valverde from Real Madrid. And Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea, perhaps the one I feel closest to in terms of physical and technical characteristics. I trained with him in the first team at Chelsea, before moving on to Reading.”

Loftus-Cheek has been heavily linked with a move to Milan over the past few weeks, while La Gazzetta dello Sport actually reported that he and Casadei were put forward by Chelsea as potential counterparts in an offer for the Newcastle-bound Sandro Tonali.
