Antonio Cassano was confronted on stage for the perceived inconsistency in his opinions regarding Rafael Leao, by a child.
A curious interlude took place at the Bari theatre during the tour organised by Lele Adani, Antonio Cassano, and Nicola Ventola for their show ‘Viva el Futbol’, which is usually a podcast published on various problems.
The floor was opened up for questions, and that allowed a young man called Emanuele to take the stage for a live exchange with Cassano. It would be fair to say that he doesn’t agree with what the former Inter striker has had to say about the Portuguese.
Emanuele: “Antonio, aren’t you making all this fuss over Leao because you’re actually in love with him, and you see in him the only refinement and bravado in Serie A, just like you did? Or are you also a results-oriented player who criticises talent?”
Cassano: “I criticise Leao because he thinks he’s a phenomenon. Because I always make comparisons… He’s a rapper, earns 8 million, scores three goals a season, and then there’s the talent… He has no talent.”
Emanuele: “No, Antò, if someone who looks at a man with a smile and makes a crazy play isn’t ‘sophistication’, then who’s left in Serie A now? Do you want the toy soldier or the genius? Make up your mind!”
Cassano: “I was a genius, Leao is not a genius. You think differently, right? You like Leao. But now I carry him around with me… he knows more than Ventola. We’re in trouble.”

Cassano was an incredibly stupid person. Loads of talent on the filed, wasted potential… because of stupid decisions. Quite the opposite of a genius.

He definitely had an immense talent but I agree he must somehow be a stupid person in how he handled it as he could have gone so much further than he did.

Also great math, Antonio! Brilliant math! I didn’t realize having four double digit scoring seasons in a row is 3 goals a season (I’m counting all competitions)… and he already has 8 goals this season.
I, like many, have issues with his consistency… and that would be a fair critique… but making up numbers and pulling things out of thin air isn’t correct.
