Ceccarini claims Lazio will demand ‘€25-30m’ for Milan target despite contract deadline

Mario Gila has ended up on AC Milan’s radar ahead of the summer, but according to a journalist, a pretty hefty offer will be needed to secure his services.

Milan are already thinking about potential reinforcements for the 2026-27 season, and despite having the best defence in Europe right now, that department is one of the priorities. Indeed, to continue with three at the back, they will need more than just one proper deputy.

Several names have been mentioned in recent months but the one that appears most concrete is Mario Gila of Lazio, seeing as he’s appreciated by everyone in the management and by Massimiliano Allegri. The latter’s approval is especially important.

Too much for Milan?

However, as stated by Niccolo Ceccarini in his latest editorial for TuttoMercatoWeb, a pretty significant offer will be needed from Milan. Even though the Spaniard’s contract expires in 2027, the clause involving Real Madrid means Lazio will still ask for a decent chunk.

“The spotlight in Italy is also on Gila. The Spaniard is a certainty for Lazio, but the January mercato (with the sales of Castellanos and Guendouzi) made it clear that the Biancoceleste are ready to talk if faced with a significant offer.

“Inter are not alone in this race, as Milan are also making a comeback after having tested the waters last year. The price tag is around €25-30 million, no less, also because 50% of the sale will go to Real Madrid,” he wrote.

It remains to be seen if Milan are willing to pay that much, though a discount obviously cannot be ruled out if the player were to push for the move as well. Maybe €20m could be enough to satisfy all parties in the end.

  1. We are going to be in the red from not playing in the CL this season. And if our budget is 100 mil they aren’t going to tie a third of it up on one player.

We need volume and quality to be able to stay relevant domestically and in Europe next season. But with our management you never know what the answer or strategy is.

    1. I predict another strong player will be sold this summer. Likely Pulisic. Or maybe Pavlo since his value has grown a lot.

      1. Or maybe no one we don’t really need to sell star player names that probably sold are RLC Gimenez Nkunku maybe Fofana maybe Estupinian. Not any star tho Bookmark this

  2. We are as gud as in champions league for next year.extra income to club so i cant see any of our strong regular players been sold.manager wont allow it or he will go

  3. 25m for the player who only 1 year left contract it’s huge mistake. Spend the money for the strikers. Allegri can found another bartesaghi from the primavera…

    1. Barteseghi is LWB/LM not a CBs. If you tell me otherwise you dont know ball
So Milan should get him. + Tiago Gabriel for another 20m
