Mike Maignan continues to be a crucial player for AC Milan and along with Rafael Leao, he was probably the best in the two games against Napoli. As a result, the Rossoneri now intend to renew his contract.
The Frenchman has been very good since he returned from his calf injury earlier this year and Milan have him to thank for making it to the Champions League semi-final. It’s not exactly a surprise that a renewal is on the cards, in other words.
As stated by Niccolo Ceccarini for TuttoMercatoWeb, Milan could begin the talks already this summer. The current deal will expire in 2026 so there is no immediate rush, but the Rossoneri want to secure his services until 2028.
Of course, it would also include a pay rise for Maignan and it remains to be seen if Milan will start the talks this summer or a few months into next season. In any case, the goalkeeper’s importance is undeniable and the Rossoneri must keep him.
Now I agree with the saying ,when a snake loses its skin it produces a more beautiful one .donarumma thought leaving Milan wud leave a big space to fill but he was too wrong…
