Ahead of the upcoming season, with high expectations for the campaign, AC Milan are expected to reinforce the squad with a few signings. A centre-back is expected to arrive, but the primary target hasn’t been set.
Alessio Romagnoli, who’s currently the captain of the Rossoneri, is expected to depart as his contract will expire at the end of the month. This means that Milan need to bring in a centre-back, despite the brilliant Tomori-Kalulu partnership.
According to Niccolo Ceccarini, in his latest piece for TMW, Sven Botman has been on the Rossoneri’s radar for quite some time now. However, Milan have recently learned that he would cost roughly the same as Gleison Bremer, the Torino centre-back.
The renewed interest in the Brazilian most likely comes down to the situation of Inter, one can only speculate, as the Nerazzurri cannot come up with the money now. It remains to be seen which centre-back Milan will move for, in other words.
I haven’t seen Botman, but Bremer is very good and plays in the same style as Kalulu and Tomori.

Bremer will go to Inter I think, they already have a agreement for a 4 year 3.5M deal and if they offload vidal and Alexis they will make the deal I saw. So the only choice left is Botman or just stick with kalulu and Tomori
Inter also had an agreement with Tonali and with Brescia but the transfer didn’t happen because Conte wanted more experienced player like Vidal.
It’s reported that they have agreement with Bremer on salary but no agreement with Torino nor the funds to complete the transfer. First they have to sell Bastoni before they can buy anyone

I do not see the importance of having a left footed CB.
I also think playing a 3412 next season would be nice, or 352. (Giroud and/or Origi upfront w/ CDK as SS/CAM). Aside from that, in terms of quality, Botman is taller and left footed, whereas Bremer is much faster, therefore better for our high line. Also, in a back 3, aerial threats go to CCB. This is why Taller+slower Defender is played there. So, in back 3 Botman OR bremer would be played there, so Botmans left footedness isn’t as useful. Still, don’t mind either
pioli doesn’t play 352 neither do i think he’s going to change the winning formation of 4231.
we need botman more than bremer. we hardly have. players who are good in air which bremer is not as much as botman.

I trust Maldini and would be happy with either, but a Bremer/Tomori partnership would be almost impossible to break through and with Theo and Kalulu bombing up and down the wings….sky is the limit IMO
