Celtic star responds to questions over future amid links with €30m Milan move

Following yet another disappointing season, some changes are expected at AC Milan ahead of the next season, starting with the transfer window. Among other things, the Rossoneri are looking for a new centre-back.

In recent weeks, various outlets have linked Norweigan defender Kristoffer Ajer with the Rossoneri. The 21-year-old’s contract with Celtic will expire in 2022 and Milan have been keeping tabs on him for quite some time.

According to a previous report from Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), the Scottish side value the youngster at over €30million, and there is plenty of competition from a number of other European sides. In other words, it won’t be easy to sign him.

In an interview with Daily Record, Ajer opened up about his future amid the heavy speculation by the media. However, he made it clear that he isn’t focused on the transfer market, but rather his performances on the pitch with Celtic.

“I have two years left of my contract at Celtic and I am not focusing on my future at all. I am not interested in what has been written about me.

“At the moment, I am training hard. I have told the Celtic physical trainer that I want to take big steps during this break period. I run two sessions a day, and I am building up a lot of strength doing that,” he stated.
