Christian Pulisic of Chelsea

CF: How much Pulisic’s signing will weigh on Milan’s accounts for 2023-24

AC Milan are preparing to welcome their fourth signing of the summer with Christian Pulisic set to land and undergo his medical later this week.

According to Calcio e Finanza, Pulisic will move to Milan on a permanent basis and will fill the position vacated by Brahim Diaz, who left the Rossoneri after three seasons on loan to return to Real Madrid.

Pulisic arrives in Serie A after spending four seasons with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and four with Chelsea in the Premier League, with the Blues having paid €64m to sign him from Germany.

Milan found an agreement with Chelsea on the basis of €20m as a fixed fee, plus bonuses. Considering that the player should sign a contract until 30 June 2027, the depreciation value for next season will be €5m euros.

That figure must be added to the player’s gross salary, which will be €4m net per season. Having arrived after 2 July, Milan will be able to take advantage of the tax benefits deriving from the Growth Decree only from 2024.

That is why in 2023-24 his gross salary will be equal to €6.32m. Factoring depreciation plus salary, the cost will therefore be equal to €11.32m for the next season.

  1. It is not so much comparing his star status. But also someone needs to be sold because he can cover 3 positions. Selling rebic would be adequate.

    1. That’s the issue. We suck at selling players. We need to sell at least 4-5 players but who will buy them and for what price?
