Lack of options in attack could see Primavera star make Champions League debut

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s selection problems in attack could possibly present an opportunity for Chaka Traore to make his Champions League debut against Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

There are several absences for Stefano Pioli to deal with this evening, especially in the forward department. Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze are out injured, while Luka Romero was not included in the UEFA squad list.

That means that the only two alternatives to the starters (Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic) will be Luka Jovic and the 18-year-old Chaka Traorè, with the latter being the only alternative winger available.

Traoré arrived at Milan in 2021 from Parma where he played for 12 years in the youth sector. Last season he scored 8 goals and 6 assists between the league and the Youth League for the Primavera.

Last year, the teenage winger played his first game for the Ivory Coast Under 23 national team, who will pursue qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In the summer, he renewed his contract until 30 June 2028.
