Like many others, Goretzka and Lewandowski’s chances of joining the club decreased substantially. However, with an attractive project, perhaps the gap could have been made up.
Heading for America
According to The Athletic, via MilanNews, Chicago Fire are well placed to sign both Lewandowski and Goretzka this summer. In fact, the Polish legend is so close to joining them that he is expected in America in the next few days to take the next few steps.
A deal for the German is more difficult as he still has European aspirations, but his name is floating around and a move could well materialise in the next few weeks.
Either way, it is tough to see the Rossoneri landing either thanks to their drop in wage budget and no structure in place to pounce on two top-quality free agents. More than a messy situation, indeed.

What a team my precious Milan has turned into
The way they’re doing, I sincerely hope they don’t close the club down in two years!
