Amid reports of a potential formation change for Milan, following what has been a negative spell for the club, Rossoneri fans are following the situation carefully. One of the players that could benefit from this is Sandro Tonali.
The youngster arrived from Brescia on a loan with an option to buy in the summer and Milan will redeem him at the end of the season. However, he still hasn’t been able to show his best qualities with the red and black shirt, at least not regularly.
Should Stefano Pioli decide to switch to a three-man midfield, perhaps with 4-3-1-2 as the formation, then Tonali could return to playing as a regista. That is the position he had at Brescia and did so well in, attracting Milan’s interest in the first place.
With Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer on either side of him, it could be a midfield to fear for the opponents. Bennacer has played in a similar role for Algeria and Kessie, as we know, has played in a three-man midfield before.
