Chelsea boss Potter comments on winger’s future amid Milan links

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has commented on the future of winger Hakim Ziyech amid links with a move to AC Milan.

Ziyech took full advantage of the World Cup to show his capabilities, playing a starring role in Morocco’s run to the semi-finals of the tournament in Qatar with his quality from open play but in particular from set pieces.

After struggling for playing time with Chelsea, the 29-year-old demonstrated that he is still very much able to play a leading role in the right circumstances, and Calciomercato.it report that Stefano Pioli particularly appreciates him and wants him at Milan but the right conditions are not present.

In the meantime, Graham Potter has spoken about the future of the former Ajax man amid the strong speculation that he could leave the club next month.

“He played against Manchester City and I brought him on against Newcastle. I think that before leaving he was a step behind the starting 11 but he was always in the game, even if he started from the bench,” he said.

“We know his qualities, we like him as a player, he plays between the lines, he has fantastic qualities that we saw at the World Cup. We can say many things but there are always great players among the starting eleven, you need patience but I’m happy for him. I kept in touch with Hakim during the World Cup and I was pleased that we played and managed to help his national team.”
