Metro: Chelsea fret as Milan, Juventus and Barcelona eye midfielder on a free transfer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of the clubs monitoring the situation surrounding Chelsea midfielder Jorginho who has rejected a contract offer, a report claims.

According to Metro in the UK, the Italy international has said no to Chelsea’s latest contract proposal and is instead seeking a salary increase of around 25%. He is out of contract at the end of the season and is attracting interest from several clubs.

The report mentions that the former Napoli man – who cost Chelsea €60m back in 2018 – has received interest from Barcelona, Juventus and Milan with each side looking to bolster their midfield ranks.

The 30-year-old is vice-captain at Stamford Bridge and though they wish to keep him around beyond the end of the current season, they have offered him the same salary that he is on currently.

The Premier League side want to resolve Jorginho’s future before January 1st, when he will of course be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.
