This season, Mike Maignan has been superb for AC Milan. In fact, some may even say that he has refound the best form of his career.
The brilliance of Maignan this season is being met with sadness as well. Ultimately, most have forfeited the hope that he will remain at the club, due to the lack of progress made over his future, despite recent efforts.

In fact, it seems that Milan are not far away from being in the same position. Reports in recent weeks have suggested they are preparing their final efforts. Suggesting that they, too, are losing faith in the future.
Maignan to Chelsea?
Today, Calciomercato.com have taken stock of the situation, stating that Igli Tare is working to keep the Frenchman, and a €5 million offer could be made in the near future. They state that it is a ‘difficult’ situation to fix, but not a completely impossible one.

Things could head more towards that direction as January arrives, with last summer potentially weighing in on things. Chelsea, as the report recalls, agreed a deal with the goalkeeper, and they are once again at the door.
Maignan would be interested in a move to the Premier League. If that were to fall through, Juventus would also be hoping to make a move. Right now, the Blues are in the lead it seems, but the Rossoneri are not giving up, not yet.

Mike is smart to be playing at another level altogether to drum up interest and give himself options pre-transfer. Max needs to do his utmost to try to keep him here.
We could give Torriani a chance of course, but with anyone other than Mike in the derby we would have lost by 3 goals… That has been Mike’s best ever game at Milan which goes to show that his highest highs far outweigh his lows.
We definitely should do what we can to keep Mike.
That being said, we also need to get ahead of this situation now. First thing is, to never play Terracciano when Torriani is available. This old goalkeepers should only be there fo fill the squad list, as there is zero perspectives in playing them. Look towards England & Spain and that is the case. We need to start testing Torriani properly when it’s possible, and give him a few lower tier games here and there. He proved himself in the Champions League last season, so now we need to see him on a more regular basis, and if his level is contant enough to start for Milan soon. I don’t acre if he makes mistakes, because Mike makes mistake too.
Article says a €5m offer could be made… When exactly? When he agrees a precontract with another team? Make your best offer and if he rejects it, go for the Freiburg guy so you’re not caught off guard. You don’t have to wait till the summer before you sign a replacement. Usually the richest clubs take the best available and we’re left fighting for what’s left. Agree with the team now if possible and bring the goalie in during the summer.
This huge beautiful mess is the work of rat furlani last season …..
