CM: Chelsea open to Ziyech departure but do not want a ‘Lukaku-style’ loan

By Euan Burns -

Chelsea are willing to let Hakim Ziyech leave the club this summer but they want to receive a genuine transfer fee for the Moroccan attacker, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Premier League side do not view Ziyech as non-transferable in the summer, but they do have terms to meet.

They paid €40 million to Ajax for Ziyech in 2020 and he is under contract until 2025, so Chelsea would like to receive a proper transfer fee for his services.

They do not want to send him on the sort of loan that Inter negotiated for Romelu Lukaku which represents very bad value for money as far as Chelsea are concerned.

Having been heavily linked with AC Milan for a long time and more recently linked with AS Roma in January, Ziyech seems almost destined to be playing his football in Italy next season, but teams will need to pay up.

  1. Can we stop it with this guy? We’ve tried for 3 years.. every year he gets older and less likely to have a decent shelf life. Put and end to this mess and move on.
