Federico Chiesa is not expected to spend the 2025-26 season with Liverpool, and AC Milan are among his potential destinations.
According to Calciomercato.com, the new Italy coach Gennaro Gattuso has strongly advised Chiesa to find a new club so he can also return to having an important role the national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and several options remain open in Italy.

His relationship is ‘already broken with Liverpool’ and thus his agents are at work to find him some accommodation. He did not join the preseason tour of the Premier League champions officially due to ‘injury management’, but really Arne Slot has made it clear he is not in his plans.
Milan one of the options
Chiesa hasn’t given up completely, in fact he’d like to continue his adventure at Liverpool, but he doesn’t want to spend another year on the bench. So, knowing that he probably has to leave, he has prioritised a return to Serie A.
His representatives have been working on a move for some time, and among the clubs contacted Napoli are the most active. However, they are prioritising sales, like Giovanni Simeone to Torino and Giacomo Raspadori, who has been approached by Atalanta and Atletico Madrid.
The other team interested are Milan, with Massimiliano Allegri willing to welcome him back in a role either as an alternative to Rafael Leao or as a false nine. The possible departure of Samuel Chukwueze could open up another spot on the flanks too.

Inter and Roma are one row behind, because they are keeping an eye on things but prioritising other names. Chiesa could return to prominence for Inter only if the Ademola Lookman deal falls through completely.
Gian Piero Gasperini, on the other hand, would happily say yes to the former Juventus player, but first the club would have to sell a player like Arte Dovbyk. In this case Chiesa would act as a false nine, alternating with Evan Ferguson.
What about the figures? Chiesa has a long-term contract with the Reds, which expires in 2028, but they’re willing to let him go for a modest fee or consider a loan deal with an option to buy. The €6m a year he earns with the Reds is another obstacle not to be underestimated.
His physical condition scares off clubs interested in him at that salary level. It will essentially be a chess game in which Chiesa’s will will have to play a central role. Should he force his hand or not? And for who?

If Chiesa was advised by Gattuso to leave Liverpool and go somewhere where he will have an important role so he can be considered for the NT, why would he come to Milan?
Milan is well covered on the wings between Pulisic, Leao, Saelemaekers, Jimenez, on top of Okafor and Chukwueze, players that Milan wants to sell.
Also, Milan will play only 1 game a week, so less games to rotate.
He might play less at Milan than at Liverpool.
He should go to a team like Bologna or Torino if he wants to play.
Yeah Chiesa to Milan make zero sense
One reason I can think of is that Chiesa is “Leao in alegri’s system” like player, winger with option to play centrally like second striker or one of the two wingers/strinkers to play the counter attacks like the first 2 friendlies.
If he comes to Milan and fails, that is it, for his own sake he should avoid the big clubs
The only reason I want Chiesa is because he is fast…very fast player. We need fast players with quality and Chiesa is same fast like Salad but is better quality than Salad, uses both legs unlike Chukuweze plus can play both wings. Basically a high quality option and I don’t think options are a bad thing. We can make multiple combinations if we have multiple options. 3-5-2 to 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 mid game according to situation, all becomes possible if we have multiple options. We have one game a week to play and he will not get every game but next season he surely will get good number of games because Milan will surely finish top four this season. However said all that, one of Okafor or Chukuweze needs to leave to make space plus free up salary. I bet on Chukuweze because basically he is a one legged one dimensional players….hop on left left leg, cut inside and shoot curlers…. that’s all Chuku can do in attack.
Loan with option to buy. Low risk. How much does he have left on his contract? He’s definitely past his best.
Milan buys two right backs. This one from Young Boys and the Venezuelan from Sociedad or Martinez from Girona. So, Jimenez is projected as a replacement for Leao, Salemakers for Pulisic. Okafor may stay as the third forward while Chuk goes. All in all, Chiesa will not come to Milan, and I believe he will not return to Italy.
Sell that overhyped overrated mid average Chelsea bench warmer somewhere. We know only mid teams will come for him if they came for him. And bring a real Talent like Chiesa. Everybody know what Chiesa can do. But that would never happen with these bum americans who own the club. We are all waiting on the day Milan be sold to a Real footballing company not those baseball bums
What about Chiesa with Napoli?
