Daniele Chiffi will officiate Verona vs. Milan – his record with the Rossoneri

Daniele Chiffi has been appointed to officiate the game between AC Milan and Hellas Verona on Sunday afternoon, which should perhaps be seen as a good thing.

Milan desperately need to redeem themselves after the embarrassing defeat to Udinese last weekend. It’s not just about confidence or image either, as they actually need all three points to remain in a good position in the top four race.

Despite it ‘only’ being Verona, therefore, tempers could be running high and it will be up to the referee Chiffi (as confirmed by AIA) to keep everything under control. Not that the officiating has really been a problem for Milan in recent games, but you never know.

No complaints from Milan

Chiffi has been in charge of 15 games involving Milan and the record is rather positive so far: 11 wins, three draws and only one defeat. There have also been four penalties in favour of the Rossoneri, although it should also be pointed out that two red cards have been shown to them.

In terms of controversy, or errors in recent games, the incident that stands out the most is the red card given to Tijjani Reijnders against Udinese in 2024. The Dutchman was sent off for denial of a clear goalscoring opportunity, but in reality, there was barely any contact.

The most recent game was Milan’s 3-2 comeback win away at Torino, when Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic (X2) gave us a great evening. A penalty was awarded to Il Toro in that one, but the handball on Fikayo Tomori was clear, so no complaints there.
