This morning, two sleeps before Christmas, AC Milan may have already been given their first present of the period, with Divock Origi leaving.
The debacle regarding Origi and his future has plagued Milan for an extended period now. Last season, there were hopes that he would leave in January, and failing that, in the summer. However, he did not leave.

In the summer, it seemed that a contract termination could be agreed upon, especially with Fode Ballo-Toure departing. However, nothing could be settle, so he remained with the Rossoneri for longer than most hoped.
Origi departs
Now, though, the saga seems to be done, with the Diavolo reportedly agreeing to a contract termination.
As Fabrizio Romano reports on his X account, the Belgian has signed the paperwork to end his time at the club, making him available from the start of 2026. He has been ‘outside of the project’ since 2024, so this is the end of a multi-year ordeal.

Of course, it has taken much longer than most will have hoped, and with his deal expiring in the summer, Milan have spent more on his contract than was hoped. Nevertheless, they have been given a first gift of Christmas and a nice boost to the wage bill.

This is the funniest thing 🤣
Please update the article with a photo from present day so we can see how fat he has become as I assume all that bench and stands sitting must have had its toll on him.
This guy is very st*pid….He should have done this earlier for his career sake, but he kept warming the bench and just cashing out. What a pathetic human being 😫
His career? Dude has earned millions sitting around while we, surely you too, have been toiling for crumbs, to hell with my career if I can earn that much doing nothing, that’s a smart human being in my book, bet you would jump head first if offered half of what he’s got…stop player hating
On the contrary he was a clever one… Take an advantage from milan management wrong calculation.. only by sitting tight n nothing to do he earn a lot of money…
On the contraire, he is very smart business wise.
He was cashing out on millions per year without doing absolutely nothing.
Football wise, it might be not smart as he’s basically devaluating himself and unlearning skills, but maybe he understand that he’ll never play high level football again anyways, so why even bother.
Player haters gather here…
Well personally I doesn’t blame him for staying as he had a contract signed both to protect him and the club. He has been behaving professionally towards the club and fans so no reason to hate him but I do nevertheless question why he would allow Milans club management to stunt his career for maybe a mil or 1.5 a year compared to signing for a different club. My initial comment was pretty much just stating facts as he must be in horrible form nothing more or less even if done with a bit of humorous intent.
He behaved professionally? Are you kidding us??? He even refused to play for Futuro. You do know that Futuro very nearly got saved from relegation, right? Like by 1 point. Maybe if he had accepted the club’s order, the club that was paying his millionaire salary, with one adult more, Futuro could have stayed in Serie C instead of going to the limbo of amateur Serie D from which it will be very difficult to come back, if ever (only the winning of each group goes back to Serie C; Futuro is currently in 6th place). Origi was seen in Rome living the good life. He even disappeared from the city of Milan. You call THAT acting professionally? Too funny! He just milked the club for two years without working.
No he hasn’t and he wasn’t registerd with them as he only trained with them.
The guy hasnt complained about the club or fans hence why I said he has behaved professionally and i stand by what I said as its in his good right to run his contract down whether you like it or not. You do also realize that the futuro team isnt allowed to register as many 23+ players as they please and if players can play there they musn’t exceed a certain amount of games in Serie A, right ?
300000 a mo! A MONTH!!!! Are. You. Serious.
I would have milked this contract too.
It’s not his fault Milan made a stupid decision. Can’t blame him at all for being paid heaps of money to do nothing.
Wonder how much more Milan gave him to terminate? Surely some kind of lump sum.
Not like he’s going to find anyone to pay him close to that wage now so he wouldn’t have terminated out of good will.
Can’t blame the fella really. Huge contract. By the time it’s done his best years would have passed. The club was the one to relegate him to a third tier league in the Futuro. And then publicly say he’s not in the team at the beginning of the season… Thereby making it Virtually impossible to sell or loan him out. Refuse to play him in preseason to at least showcase some sale value. But yea…. Like I said… Can’t blame him
A true Christmas mircale!!! :O :O :O
*miracle 🎅
