Chukwueze reveals his wish for Osimhen to sign for Milan

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has admitted that he would love it if Napoli striker Victor Osimhen were to join him at the San Siro this summer.

Speaking during his long interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Nigerian winger spoke about his compatriot Osimhen who faces a very uncertain future at Napoli.

There has been no suggestion that Milan will sign Osimhen given Aurelio De Laurentiis is sticking to the €120m release clause as the valuation, but that doesn’t mean that Chukwueze wouldn’t like to see his friend arrive in the team.

The former Villarreal man explained that he has been doing his bit to bring Osimhen to the club but it has not worked out yet, whilst talking about who the fastest players with the ball are in Serie A.

“Who is faster between me and Rafa [Leao]? Without the ball, him. With the ball, me. Leao is one of the top three in Serie A and between the other two there is my friend Osimhen, who I hope stays in Italy. Where will Osimhen go? I would like to close my eyes, open them again and see him here at Milan. I always say to him ‘Are you sure you don’t want to come?’. And he says: ‘Samuel, you know it’s difficult’,” Chukwueze said.

Osimhen has been left out of four Napoli friendlies this summer and Antonio Conte would like Romelu Lukaku to join, but Osimhen has to leave first.

There was serious interest in Osimhen from Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain but no club is willing to meet the release clause, which leaves the player stuck.

There is a chance that the situation will come to a very ugly end.
