CIES: Milan star most valuable player in Serie A over Inter and Napoli duo – the ranking

AC Milan star Rafael Leao is the most valuable player in Serie A ahead of the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to a study.

An assessment from the CIES Football Observatory has ranked Leao as the most valuable player in the Italian top flight, despite him not having a very good season for the Rossoneri.

With the nature of Italian football, no player in Serie A makes the top 10 of the list but Leao finds himself in 32nd, with a transfer value of €101.5m.

That puts him €3.2m ahead of Napoli’s Kvaratskhelia, and €11.4m ahead of Inter’s Lautaro Martinez who was the Serie A top scorer this season.

The very top of the list is occupied by Jude Bellingham who has seen his value soar since joining Real Madrid, and it now stands at €280.4m.

The top 10 is completed by players from Real Madrid, Manchester City, Barcelona, Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen.

Christian Pulisic features on the list with a value of €67.4m which shows just how much of a bargain Milan got when they signed him for €20m. The likes of Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez do not feature but they would presumably not be far away.
