GdS: Clauses, budget and Real Madrid’s plan – the situation regarding Brahim Diaz’s future

By the end of the season AC Milan must make a decision on whether to try and sign Brahim Diaz permanently, and at the moment the answer ‘seems rather obvious’.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recalls how Brahim has demonstrated his qualities in recent games playing with confidence and conviction, as the goals against Juventus and Monza (a brace) at San Siro showed.

The Spaniard has not had a middle ground since he arrived in the summer of 2020 as he has alternated great performances in which he looked head and shoulders above the others with those showing anonymity.

The current muscular trouble is frustrating because it risks spoiling the party right at the time he was getting going, but the hope is he can play a part of the game against Torino on Sunday after sitting out the win in Zagreb.

His first goal against Monza showcased all of his skills as the long pass from was collected on the halfway line, and he touched the ball eight times – five with his left foot and three with his right – showing his ability to switch between one foot and the other without losing speed or affecting ball control.

During the summer he seemed almost destined to return to Real Madrid prematurely, but then it was decided to complete the two-year loan. Reflections are underway and Milan know that they must pay €22m to sign the 23-year-old permanently, but Real have a buy-back at €27m.

His performance in the coming months, the budget that Milan will have next summer and Real Madrid’s thoughts will all be key in what ends up happening, but at the moment there seems to be the desire to keep him around.
