CM: €7m sale could unlock Milan-Salernitana axis with three names discussed

By Oliver Fisher -

The axis between AC Milan and Salernitana is heating up and there are several players involved in discussions, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com report, the Rossoneri have been talking for some time with Salernitana , who are interested in couple of players from Stefano Pioli’s squad or that are owned by Milan.

Yacine Adli is the first name, with the playmaker having made one start in the league all season raising doubts about his future. Lorenzo Colombo is the other, as the striker is on loan at Lecce but has been the subject of talks with sporting director Cavalluccio who remains available to open negotiations.

Milan meanwhile are interested in Pasquale Mazzocchi. The full-back – who can play both on the left and the right side – has 2 goals and 3 assists this season despite a nagging injury, and given that he is Italian he would be useful for the squad list composition.

Salernitana are not closed off to the idea of letting him go or including him in the discussions for other negotiations if necessary, but for the moment everything is on stand-by because Milan are yet to fully determine their plans.

To free up a place as Theo Hernandez’s deputy, the departure of Fodé Ballo-Touré would be needed. Milan want €7-8m to sell and Turkish teams such as Galatasaray have come forward, so if the Senegal international were to leave then everything could unlock.

  1. 1) Ballo-Toure + Cash for Zaniolo
    2) Loan out Adli (with a buy and re-buy option)
    3) Loan out Colombo (with no buy option – dry loan)
    4) Loan Mazzocchi (with a buy Option)

    1. Just sell Colombo outright already before his value drops and let the poor boy get on with his career without having the pressure of “proving” himself at Milan hanging over his head. He’s scored 6 goals in 34 games at SPAL, 4/31 for Lecce. He’s never going to be Milan first team material. Let him leave so he can make his career in Serie B or Serie A relegation zone in peace.

      1. Who cares about his monetary value.

Are you an accountant or a fan?

It’s this exact mentality from fans that will see Colombo fade into obscurity.

As one of the few players of his generation to make the first team and play in Serie A, he’s in the top 0.0000000000000001% of players on the planet.

But apparently he’s still not “Milan level”.

        What is “Milan level”?

Origi and CDK who between them have scored fewer goals?

        1. “As one of the few players of his generation to make the first team and play in Serie A, he’s in the top 0.0000000000000001% of players on the planet.” And what happened to the other .9999999999999999%? Maybe if they’d just been “given a chance”? Maybe if they hadn’t been “sold” (in terms of youth teams just told “you’re not good enough”)? Ridiculous to assume that just because he made it through the academy that he has a future as a useful piece of the squad. Talent is talent and it will come out whether he’s playing for us or not. And he has been playing, and it hasn’t shone. Where is Patrick Cutrone? Epic all-time bomber if he’d stayed with us? Where is Mastour? The next Messi if we’d just given him a chance? Not anywhere else mind you, just with us. Simone Ganz? Son of Maurizio, surely the next Shevchenko if we’d just promoted him to the first team and played him. We ruined his career. He might have been the next all-time great Italian striker. But only with Milan, because players are incapable of playing well unless they play for the clubs of their youth.

“It’s this exact mentality from fans that will see Colombo fade into obscurity.” If Colombo fades into obscurity it will be his own fault. Plenty of players fail to break through with their youth club and then find their place elsewhere, otherwise you wouldn’t have heard of half the notable players in the world.

“Origi and CDK who between them have scored fewer goals?” Using red herrings is not proper argumentation. Who is talking about Origi and CDK in this article?

I usually like your comments, but this one strikes me as a bit childish.

        2. Simple.Origi is definitely not MIlan level. Neither is Colombo. CDK.has one year to get his act together.

    2. Agreed except for Mazzocchi.

I hate these loans in. We should either sign players outright or not bother. Otherwise we end up constantly having to revisit the same squad gaps each window.

Each transfer should ideally solve a problem not just create a new problem (most transfers do create problems anyway which is why we shouldn’t engage in too many anyway).

      1. “I hate these loans in. We should either sign players outright or not bother. Otherwise we end up constantly having to revisit the same squad gaps each window.”

Well… I prefer loan + option to buy and I can justify that by just one word: Origi. He’s the type of player that we got and can’t get rid of now as he has a long and expensive contract. The loan deals are much better because when the player flops we’re not stuck with him for ages. And we can’t replace him either because of the expenses and size of roster.

  2. Give first team for colombo next season. Hes rare left footed italian striker. Remind us with Vieri, and remember milan have to at least 8 homegrown player. Just straight swap between Adli & Mazocchi.

  3. 7-8 mil ? Lol . We should bite an arm off instantly if we get 3 mil for FBT.
    5 for Rebic
    10 for origi .

Even then the sales would be huge compared to the shitshow of last few years where can’t remove our trash for any money..

  4. Ruben van bommel it could be more cheaper. He can playmaker or winger position. At least based on statistic this season 30 plays + 14 goals from 2nd tier eredivisie could be maldini & co consideration.

    1. Colombo is too slow to make it. He’s another Petagana. El Hilali is vastly superior. No one is going to pay for FBT. Adli for Mazzocchi is a good trade.

  5. Why do our fans think our “young promising striker” of each generation NEEDS chances ?

From Alberto Paloschi , to EL Sharawy, to Cutrone, to Colombo and so on.

Guys, if “he” was to make it, it would be crystal clear (Generally speaking).
    Don’t get stuck up.
Milan-Caliber academy players won;t be needed to be GIVEN chances. They will earn them themselves.

Look @ Gigio for example, who benched Diego Lopez (just an example). If you r worthy , you will play, it shouldnt be ‘forced” for chances.

  6. Colombo’s Colombo. If I were Maldini/Massara I wouldn’t bet Milan’s strike force over next few years on this guy. Way more exciting options out there.

  7. Ballo-Toure touches the ball and the ball cries. We should pay anyone who takes him. Adli should have been used as a winger by Pioli. Big mistake,it’s on SP.

  8. will be the winger we get in January and Poldi the striker. I’m happy with the former, and still have to be persuaded that Poldi can cut it as a CF at Arsenal’s level. But I think the boss believes in him, so would be surprised to get more than a young talent for the academy and (hopefully) either a central defender or, if Sagna won’t sign, a right back. But I’d love to see di Maria rejoin Ozil. Didn’t like him for a few years but he’s become very good and can change the game. Far more consistent Thanks More info: APK LP
