CM: A halved salary and Raiola’s Juventus idea – the latest on Romagnoli’s renewal

AC Milan are still trying to resolve the future of captain Alessio Romagnoli and it could be a difficult negotiation with his agent Mino Raiola.

Calciomercato.com writes how Romagnoli has always provided the right answers when called upon by head coach Stefano Pioli despite the fact that Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori seem to be the first choice pairing for the time being.

Romagnoli for his part has understood that in such an intense season – which will feature spells of playing three games every eight days – everyone will need to contribute. That is why he wants to be a part of the stimulating project that the Rossoneri are building.

The 26-year-old has had discussions with the management in which ample willingness has been expressed to consider a possible renewal offer, but Milan would only entertain it if he were to accept different economic conditions compared to the current €6m net per season he earns.

Directors Maldini and Massara could offer half of that, while Raiola could become a key factor and he has a free transfer to Juventus on their agenda, and the agent’s recent words against the Rossoneri in the media have not been received well at Casa Milan.
