CM: Abraham, rejections and the Chiesa factor – Jovic remains at a crossroads

Despite having his contract renewed just a few weeks ago, Luka Jovic’s future at AC Milan is uncertain and the Federico Chiesa saga isn’t helping.

According to Calciomercato.com, the idea for Paulo Fonseca and the directors is to sign another striker who can alternate with the new signing Alvaro Morata in front of the attacking trident of Chukwueze, Pulisic and Leao.

Therefore, if Jovic were to accept an offer from another club then they would not stand in his way, but the problem is that he has rejected every expression of interest that has arrived to this point, interest that is logical after a season with nine goals mostly off the bench.

The strong rumours suggesting that negotiations are on over Tammy Abraham has caused some clubs to try and pounce on Jovic’s situation. Clubs from Saudi Arabia rang up, Olympiacos did too, while teams from Russia and Turkey also came forward.

None of these options obtained with Jovic’s approval, who for his part would still like to play for a spot just like he did last year. Furthermore, there is Chiesa who at the moment is making things a bit more complicated.

This is not referring to the fact that Chiesa has been offered to Milan but rather the fact he and Jovic have the same agent – Fali Ramadani – who at this moment is 100% focused on finding a solution for the Juventus forward. Therefore, Jovic’s future is not the most pressing of issues, for him or his agent.

  1. Keep Jovic, he is natural born scorer just like Inzaghi, maybe even better. The only thing Jovic needs is to get MORE chances to play and he will easily put 20 goals per season. No need to spend more money on other player on this position.

      1. What are you talking about, didn’t you see where he said an easy 20 per goal per year? 😂
        Pippo couldn’t guarantee that.

      2. No his name is mos likely KakoVIC, and 9f course Luja is all of the above in comments. Serbs as we know are okder then ameba and better then everyone.

Kaka, even for a Serb what you just said is a bit too much. Are you for real?

    1. Very true. I don’t understand the logic behind trying to get a new striker when we have them in abundance and with different characteristics. I agree with you, he needs more time on the pitch and confidence from the coach. We have okafor and camarda as other good options aside from morata

  2. Get Chiesa as a back-up since we are competing in 3 fronts bench will be the key factor as season goes on. 15 mil is a bargain for player that can decide game with one move.

  3. Both Tammy and Chiesa are a risk. But if i need to take a risk i will go with Chiesa. Talk with him and see if he is willing to take a lower salary with good performance bonuses. If he hits form again you have Leao,Pulisic,Chiesa. Both our wings will be super hard to stop and you potentialy have an attack that can take on any difence in football. Keep Jovic as a back up. 9 goals of the bench is solid performance for a back up. Then again Fonseca might like different type of strikers then Pioli. So thats something to be considered as well.

  4. I really want to see Chiesa, a fresh talented player come to Milan it would be amazing also with him being able to play everywhere am,lw,rw, and st but his wages are way to high I think if he wouldn’t ask for so much I would really like to see him join us

  5. I would bet on Chiesa too, in case he’s willing to accept a salary reduction. Ok, he’s injury prone, but he can deliver the goods and with a little of luck can be a strategic asset to the side.

      1. As options for both wings. Plus you also have the luxury of quality rotations. It’s a no brainer, the only snag is his salary

  6. i’ll bet in Chiesa too, Roma got injury prone Dybala & us got Puli last year & they doing good, we can buy him 15m & if doesn’t work we still can sell him 10m next year easily

  7. Very true. I don’t understand the logic behind trying to get a new striker when we have them in abundance and with different characteristics. I agree with you, he needs more time on the pitch and confidence from the coach. We have okafor and camarda as other good options aside from morata

  8. But honestly, Jovic really is much much better than Inzaghi. When I recall the Inzaghi’s career he was mostly useless on th pitch in every game. And he played all the games from the 1st minute. Jovic always enters in the last 20 minutes and he scored 9 goals in the first season with AC Milan. Jovic has much better shots, plays much better with his head and is much faster than Inzaghi. The only difference is that Inzagh was given a chance constantly even when he was not scoring for many games in a row!!! Jovic gets 20 minutes of play, if he scores he is considered great replacement, if he doesn’t score in those 20 minutes then they immediately talk about selling him!? That’s insane!!! Give Jovic a proper chance and no one will remember Inzaghi anymore.

  9. Imagine getting chiesa on that wing with leao opposite of him and Pulisic in the middle that’s the dream line up, but ik if we sign him we would play him st for some stupid reason
