CM: AC Milan make PSV star number one priority to fix key issue – the alternative

AC Milan have identified PSV Eindhoven’s Denzel Dumfries as their number one target for the right-back position, according to a report.

The Rossoneri have struggled for consistency on the right side of their defence all season, with Andrea Conti and Davide Calabria each failing to last more than a handful of games at a time due to injuries, suspensions and general poor form.

On Saturday, one of the reported targets to reinforce the right side of their defence – Paolo Ghiglione of Genoa – was asked about links with a move to the San Siro and he admitted he gets ‘pleasure’ from hearing of interest from big clubs like Milan.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, a number of teams are keen on signing Ghiglione, such as Atalanta, Bologna and Fiorentina – but he is not Milan’s first choce.

Ghiglione is among the monitored profiles, but Denzel Dumfries of PSV Eindhoven is in fact the primary target and has been closely followed by Milan throughout the season.

The excellent relationship between PSV and Milan can favour the development of a real negotiation, with the Dutch side interested in signing Ricardo Rodriguez outright.
