CM: Adli starting over Krunic could be a hint about the Bosnian’s Milan future

By Euan Burns -

Stefano Pioli could be dropping a major transfer hint by dropping Rade Krunic in favour of Yacine Adli for the match against Borussia Dortmund this evening, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Pioli could be showing that Krunic’s future lies away from Milan given he is being heavily linked with a move to Fenerbahce.

Since Krunic returned from his injury, he has not missed a single game. He only played for six minutes against Fiorentina which was presumed to be because he is set to start against Dortmund.

With Adli expected to start, it suggests that there is an issue with Krunic and he has dropped down the pecking order.

There seems to be a distance between player and club when it comes to a renewal, and with Fenerbahce keen ion signing Krunic as early as January, this could be the start of his departure from the Rossoneri.

  1. The coach doesn’t intervene in contractual negotiations, he plays the best team possible to give his team the opportunity to win.

Adli has proven he has a wider passing range, more vision, better skills on the ball and is better at maintaining fluidity in our team’s build up stage. That is why he has started.

Pioli gave Krunic chance after chance to find his game and help us win, our team has been losing since he was reintroduced.

This decision purely from a football stand point is a no brainer. Leaving contracts and management issues out of it, this was supposed to be the proper choice regardless.

      1. agreed, he subbed in Krunic as a CB, this ocach is over his head, needs to go.

I hate calling for someone to be fired, at this point he is proving to be incompetent beyond all interpretations that could suggest otherwise

    1. I could be related to our owner being present for the game. It’s likely to show that he has no place in the starting lineup, and he is for sale in the winter. Maybe it could be a tactical change, or he is not yet recovered completely.

  2. Lol another garbage news from Calciomercato and as usual people just eat it up without processing the news.

Adli started is nothing to do with Krunic contract renewal.

Did people forgot that Pioli keeps starting Donnaruma despite he refused to signed a new contract?

Or the same with Kessie when we won scudetto back in 2021 and Pioli keeps playing him as a starter despite he doesn’t want to sign a new contract.

Pioli never freeze player because of contract renewal. He let management handle that stuff. So Pioli started Adli is just pure tactical where he thinks Adli is more ready than Krunic and can provide more attacking options.

  3. In my view – Krunic is a good substitute to have in the team, as he is a hard worker and somewhat versatile in the half line. In fact he helped a lot in the start of the season before he got injured. Afterwards he had some poor games and we should have stuck with Adli probably. Honestly I prefer Krunic instead of Pobega every day of the week.

Adli performance-wise is very much like CDK. He has the technique, he shows promise and has great eye on the field, but at the same time is not consistent – either has a good or terrible match, kills half of the chances in counter-attacks and often makes ridiculously silly passes straight to the opposition. I guess if he plays more often he will be more consistent and less frantic in his actions, but the truth is he has to deal with this mentally.

Currently it seems best if we have Reijnders, RLC, Musah . I really hope Bennacer will be in good form when he returns but you never know with those injuries…

  4. It could be a hint that Milan is about to win the Champions League and Serie A without Krunics’s dead weight dragging us down. Finally, Milan will play with 11 players!
