CM: Atletico Madrid and Barcelona eye AC Milan captain for next season

By Isak Möller -

Even though AC Milan have started the season poorly, a few players have managed to stay consistent performance-wise. The Rossoneri’s captain, Alessio Romagnoli, has certainly been one of these.

The 24-year-old has been the San Siro side’s best defender in recent years, earning the captain’s armband. In other words, his presence has been very important for Milan in what must be considered a rough period, although last season was an improvement.

Not surprisingly, Romagnoli has attracted the interested of several big teams in Europe. According to Calciomercato.com, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are both keeping tabs on the player, potentially making a move in the summer.

Milan, on the other hand, have no intention of parting ways with the defender in the near future. Instead, as the report continues, they are ready to sit down with Mino Raiola to discuss a renewal of the contract, which will expire in the summer of 2022.
